Simple Boo

Happy Halloween! :)

Well, you know I couldn't post today without it being a Halloween card! You would have had to check my temperature if I had done that! ;) So today's had to use a button....you know for Sharon's Stamp Simply challenge. This week is 'Button up for ....fall....Winter!'

Hmmm....buttons..........................................................

I opted to use mine on my tag...because I am somewhat button challenged!

Here's my Mummy card....

The deets: My Minds Eye dsp, Very Vanilla cs SU for the mummy...which I just cut into strips and then distressed with black ink...it was actually pretty simple...although definitely not a 10 minute card...or maybe that was just because I was watching TV while making it!...., purple ribbon Martha Stewart...and I picked it up in the clearance section for $1.99! LOVE a bargain!....'Boo' sentiment PTI, jiggle eyes...

jiggle eyes! OHMYHECK! They are FABULOUS! Look at this.....

They're from Jeepers Creepers and how stinkin cute are they! I'm in love! LOL...yes, I realize how sad and pathetic that really is! :)

Ok...time to check out the rest of the team....
Check out Darlene Pavlick’s sample here.
Check out Julie Koerber’s sample here.
Check out Dee Jackson’s sample here.
Check out Jennifer Buck’s sample here.
Check out Janine Orchard’s sample here.

Check out Becky Oehlers’ sample here.

If you are uploading to SCS remember to use the keyword ssnotime59.

That's it for me. I'm actually off to bed! :) Carter is sick again. Poor little guy. It's probably more like still sick but he seemed ok today and yesterday. I'm hoping he is better by Halloween night....I would feel so bad for him if he missed anything!

Post you soon! Have a wonderful and safe Halloween! :)

A Hip Hop Christmas Trio

Hip HOP!

I'm so excited for today! You know I LOVE hip hop! :) ...and as usual, Angela has a whole list of goodies for everyone today! Don't ya LOVE her! :) She's the sweetest!

Well there are some fantabulous new releases today! I am soooo happy that I have a few in my hot little hands! I created a trio of Christmas cards with them....
I'm still trying to decide what to do for my Christmas cards this year. I've usually already decided...and started!...by now! I am slightly stressed that I have NO idea! Although any one of these would be fine! I LOVE the new images!
Here's the first one....

I LOVE the stocking! This one is called 'Stocking of Elegance'. Isn't it wonderful!

My second card uses the new 'All Santa's Reindeer'. It's not a silhouette stamp but I LOVE it this way!

I decided to color him all black...it worked to me with this one. I also used the Worn Grid background stamp.

The next card uses the new 'Trinity Trio'.....

LOVE these trees! :) Aren't they fab! So many great images!
The deets: All stamps Unity! ;)...guess that goes without saying! ;) Sorry, I didn't have the direct links for these but just click on the one I provided and by then you will see the new hip hop releases....Ok...the rest...Kraft card stock PTI, Fancy Pants dsp from Jacksonbelle Embellishments, Ribbon from SU, chipboard pieces...from Archivers...can't remember the brand!...sorry about that! :)

Now on with the hop! Hop on over to the ever so fabulous Robyn Weatherspoon....and I will see you all in the forum in a bit! Off to hop!

Post you soon! :)

Happy Fall!

I cannot believe that it's actually fall! It's almost Halloween! How is that even possible! It's freezing here and although I am not ready to say I miss summer, I am not ready to be cold!

Last night while listening to the weatherman say that we were getting ready to have the coldest day of the season...I thought I would revisit my favorite little scarecrow from Unity. I LOVE this little guy!
How cute is he! I left this one without sentiment so that I could use it for anything. Here's the deets...Cosmo Cricket paper, So Saffron CS SU, ribbon SU, Dew Drops from Jacksonbelle Embellishments, and of course this cute little guy is from Unity...Fall Festival.

That's it for me. I am off to finish playing catch up around here. It's amazing how behind you can get when everyone is home sick! :)

Hope you all have a wonderful day!

Ever So Grateful

Happy Inspiration Tuesday! You all know how much I LOVE Beate's Inspiration challenge (#29)! It's one of my favorites! This weeks challenge is AMAZING! Take a look at the piece that Beate chose for us....

How much do I love the colors and 'cleaness' of this picture. Everything is wonderful! I actually wasn't quite sure what direction I wanted to take for this one. I didn't want to lose anything! ;) So I pulled out some kraft, some twine, and my Gratitude=Joy stamp from Unity...to create this....

Simple and clean. My favorite!

Be sure and check out the rest of Beate's team....

Hope you are all doing well! I'm off to try and get caught up! Yesterday was a crazy day! Two of my boys were sick...I'm actually typing this Monday night...hoping that tomorrow morning by the time you all read this everyone will be well again! If not...I won't be catching up on anything! :) Just still giving a ton of hugs and running around getting this and that for the boys!

Post you all soon!

A Two-fer!

It's time for our Monday challenge. This week...a sketch! Brought to us by the one and only Amber! But I am not going to stop there! Oh no! Have you all heard about the fantabulous challenge that Angela is hosting at Unity? Create a card, page, project of whatever nature...using Unity....and using one of the four Twilight books as inspiration.....

...once you've done so be sure and upload it at SCS and use the keyword USCSC1121 by October 30...3 winners will be chosen!....all the deets are at the link I provided above.

So this card comes to you with the above as inspiration and sticking to this fantabulous sketch from Amber.....
...and here's my interpretation of both......

You could totally switch the vampire sentiment for a nice heart or anniversary/love sentiment but I figured since I had the vampire sentiment I would go for it! ;) I truly have a few friends that I could send this to! LOL! This ones pretty simple: black card stock, white card stock, curly lable punch SU, Unity stamp, velvet border...cannot remember who makes this anymore!...gems from Glitz.

That's it for me! Be sure and check out the rest of the gals....

Hope you all have a wonderful day! :) I've got one home sick and one that wasn't sure he wanted to go...not sure that he was actually sick! ;) Off to put on my nurse hat! :)

1 1/4 c. milk
Chives (optional)

DIRECTIONS

Mix together dry ingredients. Cut in butter with pastry cutter until mixture is fine. Add cheese and mix well. Add milk and stir until just moistened. Drop by spoonfuls onto greased baking sheet. Sprinkle top with chopped dried or fresh chives if desired. Bake at 400 degrees for approx. 15 minutes.

...and how about this fantabulous tag! .....

Unity & CPS

This week Unity is sponsoring Card Positioning Systems. Take a look at this weeks super fun sketch....
Love the sketch. Of course, as is often the case with me and sketches...I've changed it slightly. Sometimes you just sort of have to follow your card...or start over...and today did not leave any time for starting over! LOL! It's been one of those days!
So here's my take on this fun sketch....
Be sure and head over to CPS and check out their team. I can't wait to see what they did with this sketch and with Unity!

The deets on this card: Unity's Unlucky 13, SU dsp, ribbon from Flower Factory, misc brads...which means I can no longer remember the manufacturer!

Have a wonderful night! I am off to help the boys get ready for bed and then catch up on some stamping. I am so hoping to get a few things finished tonight....Evan has been complaining of feeling bad all day! I want to be ahead of the game just in case!

Post you soon!

The Rose

Happy Sunday! I thought I would share a little inspirational card today that I made with this fantabulous new set from the ever so talented Melanie Muenchinger. This set is called A Year Of Flowers. LOVE it! It's fab-U! I fell in love with the flowers instantly. Melanie is so super talented. I am such a HUGE fan! Her images are usually so whimsical and fun. This one just shows how incredibly versatile and talented she is. It's so elegant and beautiful.

How BEAUTIFUL is this flower! They are all gorgeous! As I started working with it I wasn't sure what direction I would take. I have a TON of these flowers colored and cut out! ....that's for another day! ;) But then I read this quote and decided to take a simple route....which I think is perfect for this one!

I used PTI card stock...white, kraft....and pure poppy ribbon. Then I colored the flower in with my copic markers.

That's it for me for right now. I have another one that I need to get posted today...hopefully I will have it up before bed! It's been one of those lazy Sunday afternoons here! Gotta love that!

Mr. Twigster

Hey everyone! Hope you are having a great afternoon! We just finished our class....you know, we tend to eat, drink, and be merry more than we stamp! LOL! We did this quickie little number today....
Do you know how much I LOVE this little snowman! He's the best ever! All supplies on this one are SU. I LOVE the dsp!
That's it for me. I am off to fix dinner then it's movie night with the boys. I will post you all tomorrow!
Have a good one!

And The Winner Is....

Thank you so much for playing with my little Christmas challenge. Random.org picked the 3rd card entered (Here are your random numbers:3
Timestamp: 2008-10-25 13:54:53 UTC) and that is.....
This beauty was created by Giovana Smith. Please send me your deets, Giovana and I will ship your goodies off to you!

Thank you so much for playing! I had so much fun! I hope you are all having a great Saturday! I will post you soon!

What? Christmas???

It always seems a bit strange to me to start making Christmas cards...gifts...anything!...just a week or so before Halloween. I know that I should have started MONTHS ago but I am such a procrastinator! I have one here or there but nothing substantial...nothing that is going to keep me from staying up super late trying to get them finished so I can mail them in a timely fashion! ...Ok...keeping my fingers crossed that I get them out at all at this point! Shh! That will be our little secret for now! ;)

Anyway, I was playing with some of my new Unity stamps last night. This is what I came up with....
This is seriously one of my favorite kits ever! I LOVE this sentiment. I'm not sure if I will be mass producing this card...I cannot even imagine sewing on a ton of cards all at once! ...but I may use the sentiment.

I'm off! I have a card class this afternoon...something I haven't done in a couple of months! It's been a crazy time with my kids schedules! I'm so excited to hook up with my stamin' buds! I will post you later!

Have a great Saturday! :)

New Stamps!

You gotta love new stamps! I feel so very lucky to have my hands on Unity's new release! This one is available as a bundle or you can pick them up as singles...I LOVE options! Anyway, I was playing with it a bit last night during the hop. This is what I came up with.... How cute is this stamp! LOVE IT! The paper is from Tinkering Ink....LOVE this paper! It's so soft and just plain BEAUTIFUL! ...and I think that it's safe to say that Tinkering Ink is now an obsession! Man my list is getting LONG!

I am actually thrilled that it is raining here today! The boys picked out a movie and I am going to do a little stamping with my new rubbah!

Hope you are all doing well! I will post you soon!

Flat!

Seriously! Flat! LOL! That's Sharon's Challenge...and I don't mean that it stinks! This weeks challenge ROCKS! For this week we need to create a flat card...you know....one that wouldn't require extra postage. When you add the ribbon and brads and all that jazz you can build it up and have to buy more stamps....so this week we are working on NOT doing that! Holy moly! That is a bit of a challenge for me! I kept wanting to add a bow...a brad...a gem! Something! :)

Here's my card this week......
The paper is from SU...the stamp is Papertrey Ink...It's called Silent Night. I embossed, with this tinsel embossing powder, the stars...the ribbon is PTI. ...and that's about it.

Be sure and check out the rest of Sharon's team....
Check out Darlene Pavlick’s sample here.
Check out Julie Koerber’s sample here.
Check out Dee Jackson’s sample here.
Check out Janine Orchard’s sample here.
Check out Tammy Hershberger’s sample here.
Check out Becky Oehlers’ sample here.

That's it for me for right now. I will be back in a bit! New Unity! :) Woohoo! :)

Hope you have a great one! :)

A Hippity Hop!

Can you believe this is the 10th week of Hip Hop! How much do you love hopping through your Thursday!? I LOVE hip HOP Thursday! So if you are just starting your hop here be sure and head over to Angela's blog. There you will find a list of all of today's Unity specials.

I pulled out a couple of my favorites for today. First, one from Simple Pleasures. This is one of my favorite cakes ever!

I made this one for a couple of challenges over at SCS...this weeks color challenge and this weeks sketch challenge.

Now for another favorite of mine...the Growing in Unity tree. Cool note...you can now buy this tree all on it's own...I'm partial to the kit but, hey, it's an option...gotta love options! :)

A quick blast from the past....remember when I did this one.....

Not sure what my deal is with this tree! I DO totally see that this could be such a romantic tree. The kit is TOTALLY romantic! Great for anniversaries and whatnot. For some reason I also see the 'spooky' side of this tree and can't help but go with it! lol! So here's the latest.....

For this one I took a piece of glossy card stock and then painted it with watered down black acrylic paint. Then I stamped it with my tree and dried it with my heat tool...because I am toooooo impatient to wait! Then I sanded it a bit. It's pretty easy actually.

That's it for me! Now it's time to head over to Sarah Martinez. Have fun with the rest of the hop!

Post you soon! :)

A Little Something, Something

Happy Wednesday! :) Happy Fall! How beautiful it is outside here right now! I absolutely love the leaves changing and the crisp air! It's actually becoming my favorite time of year!
Well, before I get busy with all of the things on my to-do list today, I thought I would share this little quickie with y'all.....
This one uses Unity's KOTM from October. I really love the kits....they are full of such a great variety of images and sentiments. The paper from this one is from Cosmo Cricket...the Dutch Girl kit....also a fav of mine! The little black dotted strip is from Heidi Swapp. The ribbon, Target.
That's it for this one. I am off...it's a crazy, crazy day here! I hope you are all doing well and that you have a wonderful day!
Post you soon! :)

Beate's BIC #28

It's that time of week! Time to be inspired and Beate has the coolest piece for us! For this, BIC28, we have this.....

...for some reason this screamed Halloween to me! LOL! I am not sure if it's the colors or just the time of year. Anyway, this is what I did.....

This is seriously the quickest card ever! I made the circles with my Nesties....just took a piece of black card stock and 'nested' them on it and cut...EPLS. The paper is My Minds Eye. The stamp is from Unity's Unlucky 13...one of my current favs... I put this one together in about 15 minutes while getting the boys ready for school. Last night was a late one. Evan had the championship game for his football team. I am happy to report that his team won! Woohoo! We were out so late...for us! ;) I will have to share a photo later as I am barely getting this one up!

That's it for me. Be sure and check out the rest of Beate's team...

Whimsy!

For today's Monday challenge we decided to use 'whimsical' images. I pulled out my September KOTM from Unity Stamp Co for this one. Here's what I came up with....

I used a little October Afternoon...for this October afternoon...LOL! Sorry...couldn't resist! The ribbon is from SU...the dew drops are from Jacksonbelle Embellishments. Yay! I finally picked up some dew drops! LOVE them! I colored the trailer with my copic markers...and that's pretty much it.

Be sure and check out the rest of the gals...and Brooke is playing this week! Woohoo!

Hope you are all having a great day so far! I have to dash to drop off some flyers for the school and then get caught up around here so that I can get some more stamping done!

A Little Something Vintage

I just picked myself up something from Crafty Secrets and decided to use some of it for this little candy pull pouch. Did y'all ever see the tutorial Beate did on SCS? If not you can check it out here. I have altered the dimensions slightly so that I could use this GIANT candy bar! The dimensions I used are for the 7 ounce bar.....
It's actually just an 8 1/2 X 11 piece of card stock that I scored at 1/4" from the long side then from the score mark, score again at 4 3/4" then score 1/4" then another 4 3/4 and then cut at 1/4" You also score it 1/4" from the bottom of the page. I used sticky tape to tape the edges together...from there you could just follow the rest of Beate's instructions...the slot punch...ribbon to pull candy bar...that's it...then embellish.

I used one of the Cotton Scraps from Crafty Secrets on this one...
Now one more quickie something! I said when I posted the last Artisan 'challenge' that I would post a chance for blog candy at the next one. Well...I totally spaced it! Ah! Sorry about that! Here's what you will be playing for.....
How about this to make us stamp! Just create a Christmas something...card, gift, tag...whatever inspires you and then link it here. I will pick a winner at random on Saturday. Are you up for it? Feels like a win, win! You get a chance for the candy and are one project ahead of the game for Christmas! :)

Hope you are all having a great Sunday! I am off to get caught up on a few things! I will post you all soon!
