A Jacksonbelle CASE

OMHECK! How excited am I about this weeks challenge. This week the Jacksonbelle design team is caseing one of our own. This week we CASE the incredibly talented, Michelle Woerner. I think that Michelle is such a sweetie and she is so creative!

A Simply Modern Challenge

It's Stamp Simply Time! This weeks challenge is one of my all time favorites. Why? Well, because todays challenge is to make a card with a card with a modern twist. You can find all of the deets over at Sharon's blog.

I LOVE clean, sleek designs....geometric shapes....the whole thing. FAV! I pulled out one of my favorite Papertrey kits for this one. I'm using Pond of Life. Here's my card for this week....

One More Quick Lamp

Well, for the first time in so long I cannot remember we got a babysitter! Woohoo! We just got back from a great dinner of some yummy Indian food. I LOVE Indian food! :) It's spicy and yummy!....that sounded something like y-uuu-umm-m-E in my head! I am so stuffed! I meant to post this before we left but things just didn't work out the way I planned! ;) So here's one more with Unity's new Shine On kit....

I just love those lamps! They are CUTE! The deets??? Well that is a hard one for this! The stamp you know....the dsp????? well, I can't remember! I got it in the new kit from Studio Calico. That's about all I remember! The ribbon is from Jacksonbelle. I colored the lamps with my copics and added some pearls....

Time for the third challenge. Are we having fun! I must confess, I am quite the challenge junky so this is such a thrill for me! Keyword for this one is JBENYE3.

Ok...number three....are you a New Year's resolution kind of person? I will confess that I am not so much. I never....NEVER stick to them. I do set goals for myself. I like it better when I can work with shorter time restraints....short attention span..... If you are like me you can create a card using some neglected stamps, paper, embelli's...anything like that.

Well, I am setting a goal for myself. I set this a few weeks ago. I have a hard time when I buy paper packs of never using the whole thing. There goes that short attention span again! So my card today uses one of my favorite new paper packs that I would have long ago put aside as this is just about my 5 thousanth card/layout using it! ;) Here it is....



The paper is from one of my favorites Crate Paper. It's the Mia collection. The ribbon is May Arts. The stamp is Inkadinkado. This one is called Dogs.

Monday Throwdown

Happy Monday! I'm finally crawling my way out of my pile of stuff! What a HUGE relief! My card for today is super simple...I wanted simple! We used the CPS sketch for the week found here. I started in one direction and then just went simple...clean....

Super simple! I used my new KOTM from Unity. The paper is PTI kraft and a little piece of white. The dsp strip is from my paper pad from My Mind's Eye...the ribbon PTI and some ruby gems.

A Little Stressed

Hey Everyone!


Well, I spent my night starting and stopping so many projects and cards....I just couldn't concentrate. I had planned on posting something today but I will confess to being just a little overwhelmed!


Why you ask? Well, today I am getting my 5 year scans. Many of you already know that I am a cancer survivor. I was diagnosed with Hodgkin's Lymphoma in September of 2003. I had 6 long months of chemo (although compared to some, that's soooo short!) and then 1 month of radiation and have been so very blessed to be cancer free. I still get really nervous at scan time. Really nervous. I'm guessing that will always be the case.


Today I am going to share one that I love...an oldie but one of my favs....and then post some blog candy that I had intended to post later....I'll share more after the card....

This is one I shared back in July. It's using one of my most favorite Unity kits EVER!...Hey Chick. I LOVE this set! I also love the October Afternoon paper...LOVE October Afternoon!



Ok...so moving on to the blog candy. How about a little comment game? I guess it seemed perfect to post this today since I am needing a few kind words myself! :) What you need to do to be included in the drawing is to pick three blogs that are listed on my sidebar...anywhere on my sidebar and leave them a comment...if you want you can leave more than one! ;) How about this....For every three blogs you leave a comment on you can enter...so enter as often as you like! Easing Out Of Halloween!

You're probably wondering what I mean by the title. I'm sure you've all guessed just how much I LOVE creating Halloween projects. Let's face it...it's not every day you can throw purple and orange together and get away with it! And the jiggle eyes! Don't even get me started! No self respecting Halloween card is complete without 'em!

I've got a quickie little something for you tonight...yeah, sorry it's taken so long to get todays post together...our little stomach bug wasn't gone after all! It's been a crazy day taking care of all of the little sickies around here!

....oh yeah, back to my problem with moving past all of the fun Halloween creations! I'm trying to ease myself out of them! I pulled out my Hey Chick kit from Unity...no Halloween there. The paper is from We R Memory Keepers...NO Halloween with this dsp! So how am I easing myself out of it???? Check out these peepers.....

What can I say...I have a weekness for the jiggle eyes!

The Rose

Happy Sunday! I thought I would share a little inspirational card today that I made with this fantabulous new set from the ever so talented Melanie Muenchinger. This set is called A Year Of Flowers. LOVE it! It's fab-U! I fell in love with the flowers instantly. Melanie is so super talented. I am such a HUGE fan! Her images are usually so whimsical and fun. This one just shows how incredibly versatile and talented she is. It's so elegant and beautiful.

How BEAUTIFUL is this flower! They are all gorgeous! As I started working with it I wasn't sure what direction I would take. I have a TON of these flowers colored and cut out! ....that's for another day! ;) But then I read this quote and decided to take a simple route....which I think is perfect for this one!

I used PTI card stock...white, kraft....and pure poppy ribbon. Then I colored the flower in with my copic markers.

That's it for me for right now. I have another one that I need to get posted today...hopefully I will have it up before bed! It's been one of those lazy Sunday afternoons here! Gotta love that!

A Little Something, Something

Happy Wednesday! :) Happy Fall! How beautiful it is outside here right now! I absolutely love the leaves changing and the crisp air! It's actually becoming my favorite time of year!

Well, before I get busy with all of the things on my to-do list today, I thought I would share this little quickie with y'all.....

This one uses Unity's KOTM from October. I really love the kits....they are full of such a great variety of images and sentiments. The paper from this one is from Cosmo Cricket...the Dutch Girl kit....also a fav of mine! The little black dotted strip is from Heidi Swapp. The ribbon, Target.

Whimsy!

For today's Monday challenge we decided to use 'whimsical' images. I pulled out my September KOTM from Unity Stamp Co for this one. Here's what I came up with....

I used a little October Afternoon...for this October afternoon...LOL! Sorry...couldn't resist! The ribbon is from SU...the dew drops are from Jacksonbelle Embellishments. Yay! I finally picked up some dew drops! LOVE them! I colored the trailer with my copic markers...and that's pretty much it.

A Card For Vicki

It's time to Stamp Simply! This weeks challenge comes to us from one of the blog candy winners during Sharon's anniversary party...the fabulous Heather Telford! What's the challenge you ask? You must design a card without using image stamps! What? Seriously! AWESOME challenge Heather!

Well seeing as it's October...and that is National Breast Cancer Awareness Month, I am making one for my best friend Vicki. Vicki was a friend of mine from flying...oh so many moons ago...who was diagnosed with breast cancer. Unfortunately, she lost her battle. Her courageous struggle was truly an inspiration. When I think of her I only remember the laughter. Hanging out with her in her hospital room while she was getting chemo and she would be making me laugh! Such a positive attitude and just such a bright light that was truly cut to short. I miss my friend but am so thankful for her memory and for the lasting impression it has had on me. When I was diagnosed with cancer almost 9 years after her death, her spirit came to mind...her strength and her courage. She truly helped me through it without even being here.

Here's my card...

Sorry...I heard a song today that totally reminded me of her. Want to know what it was??? 'Do a little dance, make a little love, get down tonight'! Can you guys hear it? Do you know what I am talking about? There was a commercial that had that song in it...a beer commercial! Vicki used to run around singing it and doing the dance...it cracked her up...which of course would always crack me up....I can't hear that song without thinking of her. I wish you all could have known her. You would definitely have loved her!

Another friend helped with the sentiment...Ashley from over at Heart Hugs Designs...I had the hardest time trying to decide which one to use! ...so I asked all the hip hoppers late last night! All of their suggestions were perfect...some super funny!....but this one fit. It's from Unity's September KOTM. The 'ribbon' is actually about 1/2" strip of card stock that I covered with glue and glitter and then stuck together with a rhinestone brad.

An Inchie Challenge!

I am really loving my friendly throwdown with AJ, Maren, and Amber! Heehee! :) She said 'throwdown'! :) This weeks challenge involves the use of 'inchies'. It's not often I even think of doing this. In fact, I think I only have one other time! But a challenge is a challenge and, well, let's face it...it's not like it's that difficult to cut your card stock that small. The problem is in what you then put on that teensy little piece of paper!

Well, I almost feel like I cheated! I pulled out Unity's Middle School Madness for this one....you know, because all of the little heads are super tiny! Here's my card....

FUN! The dsp is from Rusty Pickle. Not only are their papers ADORABLE but everyone over there is so super SWEET! :) The rest of the paper is PTI. The ribbon is from Flourishes.

Card number two also uses October Afternoon paper. The stamp is from the Kit of the Month. LOVE getting my KOTM! They are always so cute!

Thinking Of You Friend

Well, on to this weeks challenge. If you are just getting here this morning, be sure and scroll down. It's not often that I post this much one after the other. There is another project and all of my announcements.

On to the challenge! This week we were to make a 'Thinking of You' card in honor of AJ who is off on a wonderful vacation with her family! So since I adore AJ and miss her already! I created a 'Friend' card. It's EPLS! Here you go....

I made this one quickly last night after finishing up the last of the Dirty Dozen projects. One, I was so relieved to not have to incorporate purple into it! You can only take so much purple at once! lol...

BIC 22!

Wowza, can you believe it's Tuesday already! I am so excited to be trudging through this week! I have stuff this week! Oh, I cannot tell you! It will be a wild ride for me this week! I just keep crossing stuff off of my list...that seems to help me get through it!



So enough of me and my issues! ;) How about a super COOL inspiration piece from Beate (It's BIC 22)! This weeks piece is truly the coolest piece ever! Here's the piece from a Martha Stewart ad...


Isn't this the calmest, coolest piece! It just seems so serene to me. I LOVE the cool blues with the splash of brown and green. ....All the colors I chose to pick up for my sample. I used Stampin' Up!'s Eastern Blooms for this one because well, it's sitting on my desk completely uninked and because it seemed to fit. Here's my card....

Two things! First, I picked up a couple of OTT lamps at Joanns yesterday. I was hearing some really great things about them and since I had a couple of 40% off coupons I couldn't pass them up! But that leads me to the second!...I am obviously tweaking the photos again! Sorry if it's to muddy. I always ask my sister but she was out at the time I was scheduling the post. I will check with her tomorrow...or today for all of the people that are actually reading this! :)

Challenged!

...well, by AJ, Maren, and Amber! ;) This weeks throw down involves scallops on a card. Hey, I'm good with that! I've been throwing scallops on just about everything lately! LOVE scallops! My card is SUPER EPLS!

I used Unity's Grow kit for this one. The paper and ribbon are SU. I used my SU scallop edge for the pink paper. That's it for me. Be sure and check out what the other gals did for this one...AJ, Maren, and Amber.

One more thingy. I know that I need to include directions for yesterdays SU project. It's super simple, I promise but I will come back with directions either today or tomorrow. Sorry about that. I didn't take a single picture while making it so I will have to do another one to show you guys. It's on the way.

A Stampin Up! Challenge!

Yup, you heard it right! If you are a Stampin' Up! demo then you may have already heard about this...if not, I am going to share! SU is starting a monthly stamping challenge. They asked the Artisan winners to create samples for this challenge! Can you believe it! I was sooooo excited about that! So the first challenge is this month and it's to use at least two of the new In-Colors in a project. LOVE the new In-Colors and LOVE a good challenge so I was quite excited about this one!


Well, a funny thing happend on the way to a project! ;) Where to begin??? First, I had just received my new Sizzix Big Shot! Tooo excited for words! So I decided to create something using my new toy! I used the pennants to create this little something....the colors....Pink Pirouette and Kiwi Kiss of course! They are MY FAVORITE! :)

Ok...now the funny thing that happened on the way.....

If you've ever received blog candy...or, well anything from me you know I always include a note. Hey, this should come as no surprise! ....we're all card makers for pete's sake! ;) So as I am boxing up my little project to send to SU I spy this little card on my desk...it's a little something that you've already seen on my blog....but it was perfect because #1, it used Su stamps and #2, it used the same colors! ...you can't get more perfect than that! So I included this little number...

...and how funny to see it in the Arisan showcase! Hey, it is one of my favorite cards to date! I really LOVE this stamp set and the paper...the sentiment...the whole thing! ...but I have no idea if anyone saw or even read my note! That's the funny part! ;)
