Beate's WSC...

...that actually means 'weekend' sketch challenge...but it kinda works with 'Wednesday' sketch challenge today! lol! It's been a crazy weekend here so last night was the first time I had a chance to play with this one. It was actually the perfect little something to get going with since I was hard at it with my last few DD projects yesterday. Relief they are all uploaded and you can view them along with all the fab DD projects in the fan club gallery at SCS here. I think this is my most favorite month so far...I know...this is only the second of my six months....but I really loved the theme and everyone's projects are amazing!

Anyhoo...on to todays card.....
I used Unity's the Boo Crew for this one. LOVE this little set. The paper is My Minds Eye. The ribbon is Papertrey Ink.

Well, I need to dash...sorry for the super quick post but I have got to get caught up around my house. I will be back tomorrow with some hip HOP stuff....new releases tomorrow! LOVE that!

Hope you are all doing well and that you have a great day!

Post Two...A Sketch From Beate!

How fun are Beate's sketches! I LOVE them! I couldn't wait to play with this weeks and I just got some new Unity so it was perfect!

Here's my card....

The paper is Stampin Up. The stamp is Unity...it's called Tis Near Halloween. Love the jiggle eyes and giant ric-rac...both are from my LSS.

Ok...that's it for me for now. I am off to finish up some things around here. Hope you all get a chance to play!

Post you all soon!

Beate's BIC! ....& WSC!

Happy Tuesday! I'm so ready for today! It was most certainly a wonderful weekend! I LOVE long weekends! ...but I am also ready for the boys to head back to school! I need to catch up around here and that never happens when everyone is home!
Well, Tuesday here means it's time for Beate's BIC challenge...she is up to number 21! Check out this weeks inspiration piece....
I love this piece! Well, I decided that since I hadn't been able to play with one of Beate's WSC in such a long while I would combine it with this weeks BIC challenge. Here's my card....trying to incorporate both....

What really stood out to me was the beauty of the curtains and the striking color of the flowers and table. I LOVE it all. I went with a neutral base to reflect the curtains and pulled a flower...this one is from Unity's KOTM from August...I tied the colors of all of my favorite elements into the flower.

Supplies: So Saffron Poly Twill SU, Unity Stamp Co. August KOTM, PTI sentiment, Vanilla cs PTI, scallop border punch SU

That's it for me...be sure and check out the rest of Beate's team for some great samples....

Beate's WSC #48

I'm happy to say that my sons team won! Woohooo! He gets so excited! He's very cute because after the first time his team lost he was a bit bummed. We had quite the long discussion of just exactly what this is about. You know the drill...it's not about winning...it's about how you play the game....the biggest reason we play is that we love the game and we have a great time...that kind of thing. Now that's what he talks about more than anything else....but he does get excited when they win! Especially when he has a great play. He did really well tonight which was fun to see! He did strike out once but he kept his chin up and rooted for the rest of the guys. What fun it was!

So we're home and I was able to finish up my card for Beate's WSC #48. Ok...my card is pretty simple. I relied mainly on the decorative paper...which is one of my favorite things ever! I also sewed on the card...another one of my favorite things! ...and I used my copics!...a HUGE fav of mine! I'm really loving them! Wishing I had a few more.......in time! ;)

So here's my card...

Well that's it for me tonight. I have my project to get ready for our Monday night class. It's 3-D but I am not reinventing the wheel for this one. I remember seeing some sort of candy holder somewhere...problem is I can't for the life of me remember where that was! I am going to try and create something similar from memory...who knows how that will go! I will post it for you guys Monday. I will also have another Page Plans sketch card to share for you tomorrow. I really love having new stuff to share!

I hope that you all have had a wonderful day! It's been a busy but fun one here....and I am happy to report that I am now off to bed...well, once I have a chance to catch up on some of my computer stuff.

I will post you all tomorrow! Have a wonderful night!...or day!...depending on where you are! :)

Beate's Weekend Sketch Challenge

It's time for Beate's weekend sketch challenge! ...being the sketch junkie that I am, you know I have a hard time passing on a sketch! ...and Beate's sketches rock!

This week I decided to combine both Beate's inspiration piece from Tuesday and her weekend sketch challenge. I really love this weeks inspiration piece. It reminds me of a summer day. I stuck with the same colors and papers from my card on Tuesday and combined my Papertrey set with the gardening boots because gardening is my favorite summertime thing!

Here's what I came up with....Hope you are all having a great day! We started off pretty cold here but it's just beautiful now! I am heading out for a bike ride with the boys and will be back shortly to check out all of your blogs! I can't wait to see what you've all been up to!

Take care and I will post you soon!

Beate's Weekend Sketch Challenge & Everything You Didn't Want To Know About A Toad

Well...finally finished...actually it's been sitting on my desk for about 5 hours. We've had an insane day! Today is officially the final day of spring break. Tomorrow ....school! (woohoo!) I'm sorry...but I think we all need a break from the fun! ;) Although, I am really ready for summer! It's been really fun spending more time together.

By the way! You know, I think I told you guys that we have 6 frogs! ...ok...5 now...and they aren't really frogs, they are fire belly toads. Did you know there was a difference between frogs and toads? If you did I am really impressed...and a little weirded out...just kidding! ;) I do know that frogs stick out their tongues to eat while toads just, well, eat their food....open mouth, grab the food and eat. Oh...and the food of course is live crickets. Yes, I have issues with that. Number one because it's totally disgusting but number two because yes, I feel really bad for the little crickets. The crickets?!! Whatever...

So here's are funny story about our little toads...

The other day at bedtime, Evan asks me if it's ok to take the frog...toad or not we always say frog...tank out of his room. When I ask him why he tells me they are too loud at night. Now here's what I, at this point am finding strange...I have yet to hear them make any sounds. This is another difference apparently, because they do not croak like frogs do. When I ask him what sound they are making he can't really duplicate...hey, he's only 8....so I make a mental note to listen for the frogs but tell him that I can't move the tank back and forth because they would miss him...again...he's only 8....and I realize I am the worlds worst mom at this point...total liar! But are you going to be moving a 15 gallon tank filled with gravel and water back and forth from his room every day? I'm so not!

When I get into his room to tuck him in I hear the stangest sound. Not quite a chirp...it almost sounded like ducks....like there were ducks outside his window. Ev. meanwhile is covering his head and getting ready to go to sleep. I ask what's up with the blanket and he explains that the frogs are freaking him out basically...and I realize that that is the 'duck' sound I am hearing! The frogs sound a bit like ducks!

Well after waiting in his bed with him for him to fall asleep I head to the computer to investigate. Did you know that fire belly toads make this 'chirping' sound when they are mating! If you are really ambitious in fact, I found out just how you can breed them in captivity! Aye! Ohmygoodness! Well, that explains why one of them is always climbing on to the other. I thought the little guy was just trying to get more crickets. Who knew!

All together now....EEWWWWWW!!!!!!

Moving on....Here's my card for Beate's weekend sketch challenge. I really love this sketch and yet I feel like I didn't come close to doing it justice. I was determined to use my Define Your Life stamp set and when I chose the 'unique' definition I was determined to add the letter 'U'...and then I was determined to use my little sticky letter and attach it to my close to cocoa card stock and then cover it with micro beads because it totally looks like it's covered in sugar! Why I thought that was appropriate for the word 'unique' I have no idea! Just smile and nod....

So here's the card...I started out using a different color combo but then decided I had to do the close to cocoa with the micro beads and this is where I ended up. Well...that's all I have for now. I look forward to posting more for you tomorrow. Tomorrow is the one day this week that I know we have nothing going on! I am so looking forward to a little nap after taking the boys to school in the morning. I need it!

Have a wonderful evening and I will post you soon!

A Very Late Sketch

I should be posting some of the new sketches...but I am just starting last weeks! It is my goal to finish last weeks and this weeks by the end of the weekend. ...that should make things interesting! ;)

Anyway, here is my card for Beate's WSC #42. This is a really great sketch. I am keeping it for sure. My card is pretty simple...but I love simple...isn't there a saying about simple minds?...wait...that's probably not a compliment is it?

I used my Papertrey paper and stamps and ribbon for this one. I also used some pearls for the cupcake. I so love pearls!

Well...that's it for tonight! It's been a crazy day and I haven't had a chance to see what you guys have been up to all day! I am going to go through the blogs and then go to bed! I'm not sure if I am suffering from allergies or if it's a cold but my head is completely stuffed!

If it is allergies...there worth it! I've caught up on all of my pruning today. There is so much new green popping out! Tons of things are getting ready to bloom! ...my vinca is already blooming! It's so pretty! My azaleas are getting ready...I will take some pictures once things start to wake up. I so love working in the yard! It's the whole getting your hands dirty thing. Guess that's part of what I love about stamping...my hands are always covered with ink!

I'm off...I hope you all have a wonderful night! I look forward to posting you tomorrow! :)

TWO.....

Ok...Here's the second...I'm not sure I am going to make a third. Not only are all three from tonight using it, but didn't I use it last night as well? I do really love this paper! It's just stunning! But is everything starting to look the same? Love the pink!

Card number two is for Beate's weekend sketch challenge.

I love this stamp set...both of them actually...the flowers are fom PapertreyInk. The sentiment is from Stampin' Up! It's a fav of mine. It's just beautiful!

Ok...not much posting this time around...I am off to finish the third....hopefully....it would be really nice! Eggs are waiting!...oh, and the baskets!

Post you soon! :)

Beate's Weekend Sketch Challenge

Ok...so I was going to head off to bed...then I noticed there were some new shows in my DVR. When did this happen?! ...and where the heck is Journeyman! I so love that show. Is it coming back!?

Well, I decided to watch a show and why not keep on stamping while I'm at it! Time for another EPLS! So here's my card for Beate's weekend sketch challenge....

Yup...epls...the wheelbarrow is from SU...I think it's a retired set....all I know is I got it from some mini way back when...the flowers are of course Gina K...told you I love this set! How cute are those flowers! This card reminds me of what I wish I would be doing tomorrow...working in the yard planting lots and lots of flowers! I am so anxious for spring! Of course, I won't be able to plant anything until May...otherwise I will still run the risk of everything dying in a last freeze. But May will be here before you know it! How exciting is that! What is such a bummer is that my bulbs haven't even popped up yet! I am hoping they weren't ripped up with all of the work we did last year. Do you know how bummed I will be if my daffodils aren't there! My azalea's won't bloom here until May. I am a bit worried about them as we have had some warmer weather lately. That happened last year and they bloomed early..for Indiana...and then were promptly frozen to death! drag!

Enough of my flower woes. I hope you are all having a great night and I will post you tomorrow!

Take care! :)

Beate's Weekend Sketch Challenge

How fun to finally have a chance to stamp! It's been another long and crazy day!...fun but crazy! I thought I would start the weekend off with Beate's weekend sketch challenge. I am using another GinaK for this one. I so love this stamp set! It's a definite fav!I'm glad you all stopped by! I hope you are having a great night! I am calling it a day. Quick post...quick card. I look forward to sharing more with you this weekend!

Take care! :)

Beate's Weekend Sketch Challenge...

...yes, here it is...one day before Beate's next weekend sketch challenge #35! ;) Better late than never is my new motto! :) I really loved this sketch and thought of this immediately! When that happens I know I have to give it a go. Here's what I came up with....
When you open the door it looks like this....

Thank goodness for these little magnets I bought sometime ago...they worked perfectly on this card.

I needed a card for a new neighbor so this worked out perfectly! Hopefully today I will be able to drop this off at some point! Who knows how that will go....I've got another sick one at home today....round three! I am so hoping this is where it ends! ....yuck, yuck, yuck!

I am off to make a little lunch...hoping I don't see it a second time! Sorry....hope you aren't reading this before your own lunch! Take care. I am hoping to get a couple more cards finished and posted sometime today...who knows how that will go!

Post you soon! :)

Beate's Weekend Sketch Challenge

What a weekend! Evan was sick Thursday and Friday....but by the evening we thought all was better. Saturday no probs...both boys had a birthday party Saturday evening...we were on track. Then around 3PM, Evan gets sick all over again! Poor guy! He had to miss the party. The good thing is that nobody else has gotten sick...major miracle!

Well, maybe nobody! I feel terrible today! My head is killing me! Not sure if it's just the lack of sleep over the last week or if I am coming down with something. This is putting quite a crimp in my weekend stamping fun! You know I live for the card challenges! I can add them to yet another reason to look forward to the weekend! By this time I have usually already completed at least two cards! Right now I am feeling lucky to have finished this one! Ugh!

Anyway, I started with Beate's weekend sketch challenge. As I am sooooo late, I'm sure that the rest of you have already finished this one! This one is a little funny to me....not the sketch....the sketch is beautiful!...and check out her card! gorgeous!....but the colors I've chosen....that's what is funny to me! ;)

Last week, Taylor had a color challenge and used four colors that I love on their own but never thought I could pull off together. She had such a beautiful card! Don't ya love it! Imagine my surprise that I actually chose paper that has almost all of the colors in it and that I actually am using it! I bought this paper thinking it was beautiful! I still do. But again, I have a little comfortable place that I don't love to step out of! Anyway, here's what I came up with....

Rub ons are fast becoming a favorite of mine. They make a card really easy! With the way I am feeling today, I needed that! Sorry this isn't over the top for sure! I am going to have to revisit this sketch when I am feeling a little better. It's sooooo cute! Love it!

Thanks so much for stopping by. I am hoping that I will be up for a bit more stamping tonight. I am feeling a little better but still feel a bit like I was struck by a mack truck!

Talk to you all soon!

Beate's Weekend Sketch Challenge

Well here is the second sketch challenge to take me out of my comfort zone. How fun is that! I so love when there is something that will really make you think. So often I can get in a little rut with the same ol' same ol'. How nice to have these fun sketches to really make me change things up a bit.

Here's my card for Beate's wsc #33.....

I pulled out my rub-ons for this one. I have been cleaning my stamping area as Hayden has decided to keep growing and can reach all the way to the middle of my desk! Yesterday was quite a trick to accomplish anything! All of my supplies were in the middle of my desk. I had a huge pile of stuff that I kept taking away from him. I am almost completely reorganized! Woohoo! Tomorrow should be back to business!

Hope you are all having a great weekend and I will see you all soon!

Take care!
