Happy Wednesday!

Is it really the middle of the week already???? Where does the time go! It's time to share another Page Plans sketch card! I had fun with this sketch. Here's my second card....
I so love this sentiment. In fact, this is one of my favorite sets from SU. I started to make this a Mother's day card...I do still think that's possible. But once I got going I just didn't like where I had the Mother's day part and then, quite frankly, I liked it better as just this thank you...I do think this is the perfect sentiment for a Mother's day card though....let's face it...if you are a mom out there you know that most of your day is consumed with all of the 'little' things. Well, they seem little but to the little ones in your life I'm sure they are quite big.

I hope that you are all doing well! I will post you all soon!

Bada Bling

Good morning and happy Tuesday! It's time for Beate's Inspiration Challenge! (BIC#13) I was so excited when I got this inspiration piece....

I love the simplicity of this bedding. It's so very elegant...wish my bed looked like this! I would take a picture and share but I can promise you it would ruin your mojo!

...so back to the card...Bada Bling!.....

See...Bada Bling! I got my email with the inspiration piece on the same day I was cleaning stuff out and I came across this brooch. I thought I just had to use it for this card! The card is a 5 1/2 square of chocolate chip and then in 1/4 inch for the soft sky piece. If I am remembering correctly...I also cut a 3 3/4 inch chocolate chip square and then 3 1/2 inch of whisper white that I ran through the cuttlebug with my swiss dot embossing plate....this one is my favorite! I got the sentiment from Papertrey's Father Knows Best set...LOVE this set! ...and viola...I mean bada bling.

Be sure and check out the rest of the inspiration team: Charmaine Ikach, Danielle Lounds, Dawn McVey, Silke Ledlow, and Susan Roberts. I love what they did with this challenge!

Hope you are all doing well! I am off to get the day going. I've been on quite the organizing kick as of late...my house is a wreck but finally coming together!

Take care and I will post you all soon! :)

Happy Mother's Day!

...to all you Mom's out there! I hope you are enjoying a relaxing morning and that you have a wonderful day!

It's time for another Page Plans sketch! This weeks sketch come from the fabulous Lesli Asay. Here's the sketch....

This week we all made our cards with a Mother's Day theme. I did a little something different. I loved all of the 'Mom' things my husband did for me while I was pregnant with our first child....so I created a Mother's day card for a Mom-to-be... Here's my card....

Yup...I finally got the 'She's All That' set from Stampin' Up....I have the coolest idea for this set! I can't wait to play with it some more! Anyway, I hope you all like this and remember that there are more really cool examples of both the cards and layouts over at page plans.

Don't forget that if you create a card using this sketch to link it over at Page Plans so that you can be entered in the drawing for some fun prize! Here's a copy of the layout sketch in case you would rather scrapbook an entry...

This is also from Lesli...how much fun is this! I may even have to scrapbook something! This is such a fun layout!

A special congrats to Jackie! She won this weeks contest. She created the cutest card! Be sure and check out her fabulous creation!

Hope you all have a wonderful day! I will post you all soon!

A Quickie

Ok...STAMPING!....what else....

I am off for a busy, busy day...we have two baseball games at once...how on earth do you cheer on both sons when they are playing on two different fields! Yes, as bad as this sounds, I am praying for rain! Maybe the reschedule will be on different days.

Today is my friend Bobbi's birthday...this is the fairydust.indy Bobbi from over at SCS...please bombard her with all sorts of goodwill...she totally tried to hide her birthday! You know that no matter what your age these are the things we should celebrate in a big way each and every year! Yes, I know...cancer has given me a different perspective but I do so want to pass that perspective on to each of you! No matter what the crows feet or aching bones...each birthday is a beautiful thing! Something that should be cherished and celebrated!

Ok...getting kind of mushy...sappy...whatever....

My friend Angie is in town for a brief visit...remember me telling you guys about her moving?....I am so excited to see and catch up with her...ok...I talk to her on the phone all the time but it's just not the same!

Obviously this is going to be one of those crazy days! I am going to share with you a simple little thing I am sending to my sister...yes...she has some crazy stories over there on her blog!...this card is super simple but super appropriate! I knew I had to have this stamp when I saw it at Hobby Lobby. Yeah...I always leave such sweet posts for her...you know like...'you dork'...or 'duh'...but that's all said in love! My big sis is actually my very best friend. She has been since I quit stealing her makeup back in the 4th grade! I was a real pest! ;) So that is part of the reason this is such a perfect card for her!
So what do you think? Yes, it's EPLS...but I'm telling you what...that sentiment is just perfect! I think I am going to make a whole batch of cards like this for her. Every now and then when something is happening I will send one her way. Hey, I may change the layout and paper but that sentiment just says it all!

Ok...I'm off to get this fun and crazy day started! I hope that you all have a wonderful day! I will be back for sure tomorrow with a new Page Plans card and maybe this afternoon...it totally depends on just how crazy things get today!

Take care and happy stamping to you all! :)

Let's Sew One On!

I really should start these with a little 'dork alert'...I need a special beeper or something...maybe a flashing banner...something...

Ok...back to the post. It's time for Sharon's Stamp Simply Challenge #34 and what a fun challenge it is this week! All we have to do is sew....whether it's faux or real...on our cards. You know sewing is my new favorite thing! I love to sew on cards and can't seem to stop! Even though it means dragging my really big sewing machine out and plopping it on my desk...pushing all of the junk out of the way to make room...I LOVE to sew!

...Well, I am obviously really excited about this one! If I had more energy I would link you to about a dozen cards made over the last couple of weeks but I must confess that at the time I am posting this I have the worst migraine and just cannot wait to hit my pillow! ...hey...and I made it through an entire school musical!...that I am still standing is amazing!

Ok...so to the card...This somehow felt 'patch work-y'...(just smile and nod). I also used my copics which I am truly, truly in love with! This really was a simple card. I will confess to still being 5 and loving to color so I really enjoy using these markers.

Be sure and check out the rest of Sharon's team: Julie Koerber, Dee Jackson, Tammy Herschberger, Janine Orchard, Becky Oehlers. These gals always have just the cutest projects and always inspire.

Hope you are all doing well! I will post you once the migraine has passed.

More With This Weeks Page Plans Sketch

Happy Wednesday! I hope you are all having a wonderful week! Today is going to be a busy one so I wanted to get this posted before I run out of time. I have two more cards to share with you using this weeks Page Plans sketch.

Here's the first one. I will confess that this one was a bit of work for me. I had the hardest time getting it right and am still not 100% sure that it is. I love these flowers though...I used them on both cards...thank you Martha!...i bought them at Michaels. They are from the Martha Stewart line.

...and the card....

Of course I couldn't resist making this a flap card. Here's the card open....

I made one more using this sketch. For some reason it looked like a pocket to me. I got this really cute denim paper and distressed the heck out of it...did a little sewing and...viola....

I originally had the black piece denim but it really seems like I am always using black accents lately! (Thanks so much, Sharon!...black really is a great accent!...remember her challenge a couple of weeks ago...) I added the flourish and flower because what great pair of jeans doesn't have some sort of embellishment...or distressing...I really loved the hole for the sentiment.

That's it for now. I am off to get breakfast and run the boys to school....and then I have a list about a mile long! I hope that you are all have a fabulous day and I will post you soon!

It's Tuesday!....

....time for Beate's Inspiration challenge! Wooohooo! Check out the inspiration piece Beate has chosen for us...

How beautiful is this piece! I pretty much knew instantly what I wanted to do. I thought of my Papertrey papers and stamp set and the leaves from them...and the orange(y) colors....and here you go....
How fun is this challenge! Check out the rest of Beate's BIC team....

Well, I'm off to put in what's left of the flowers and then try and figure out what my problem is with the other computer. I added a program last night and I think it affecting my uploads to blogger somehow. I had to go to the old computer to put this post in...I'm just glad we hadn't chucked this one yet or I'm not sure what I would have done!
I hope you are all having a wonderful day and I will post you all soon! :)

Another Gina K Card Swap...

Hello to you all! It's been such a crazy day today! I have so many flowers laying around the gargage! I had a wild hair yesterday because the weather was so nice to get out and get some flowers. Well, I came home with a car full! I was able to get some planted last night after Hayden went to bed but still have so much to do! I get a little crazy with the flowers every year! I'm going to be kicking myself in a month or so when I have to keep up on the watering!

Anyway, I don't have anything new to share this morning. I finished my card for Beate's inspiration challenge tomorrow...but you will have to wait until then for that one. I do have another card for the other Gina K card swap I participated in. I thought I would share that. This one was really EPLS! I absolutely love the colors! Oh...I guess I should show the card! ;)

For both swaps I used the What's In Your Tin 2 set....such a fun set...and the paper is from my old Apple Cider from Stampin UP. I really love this paper...and yes, I'm hoarding it! I'm so trying not to but that is still really hard for me!

Ok...I'm off. I hope all is well with each of you! I hope your weather is just as beautiful as ours is! I'm so loving today! It's just gorgeous outside!

Take care and I will post you all soon! :)

A Gina K Card Swap 'Card'...

Hello to you all! I hope you are having a fantabulous Friday!

I'm just finishing up some cards for Page Plans....can't wait for this weeks reveal! Have you gotten a chance to participate in the current sketch? There is still time if you want to be included in the drawing for some goodies! ;)

I thought today would be the perfect day to share one of my Gina K card swap 'cards'. I keep putting that in quotes because this one isn't really a card at all! This was a super fun swap! We each were to choose a stamp set from the March releases and create a card using that set. I actually signed up for two swaps...but I used the same set for each. My set was the 'What's In Your Tin 2' set from Melanie Muenchinger. What an awesome set! I love it!

How excited was I when I was told it was a-ok to use the little altoid tins for one of the swaps. I had actually just purchased some of them prior to finding the swap so I was super excited! I decided to create a little container for a sick girl. At the time of the swap posting there was lots of talk about the people close to us that were sick and one of them is a little girl...ok...she's little to me! Being a cancer survivor, it was really hard to hear of her being diagnosed....chemo really stinks and to think of a anyone but especially a child experiencing that is so hard! Luckily she is on the mend...still in treatment but doing very well!

...anyway...getting a little too deep....I am going to need to go and hug my kids and play a bit with them after this post...ok...this is what I created....
When you open it this is what you see.....

Here's another one with all of the stuff out....

How fun! There's a paper doll with lots of different outfits, chocolate, a paper ring, and a paper flower. This is one of the most fun things I've ever made! I really enjoyed it! It was actually really easy as well! The 'What's In Your Tin' set has a stamp that fits this tin. Since I was using the decorative paper I ended up only using it for a template. I also used my sizzix machine and the doll body and clothes to create the paper dolls....can't get much easier than that! The ring was EPLS as was the paper flower...er, um...pinwheel....

...and that's that.

I hope that you are all having a great night! I am off to play dominoes...does anyone know how to play this game???? I can never remember...quite frankly it always ends up with the kids makinig the little rows that you knock over. Once we get to that point it's all over!

After they go to bed I am going to start working on Beate's WSC...it's another awesome sketch!...and I think I have the perfect stamp for it!

If you are interested in signing up for a Gina K swap the fabulous Joanne Basile has another swap started over at SCS. Check it out! It would be great to swap with you guys! There's only four more spots and she is going to have a drawing that will give one lucky winner a Gina K gift certificate! How cool is that!

Have a wonderful weekend and I hope to be posting my sketch card tomorrow...if all goes well tonight that is! ;)

It's Stamp Simply Time!

Well, it's Friday and that means time to stamp simply with Sharon Johnson! Sharon has the coolest challenge for us today! For this challenge you just need to think spring! I'm so excited about that because I am so ready for spring!

So here are the rules....and they are EPLS!...you have to use pink, green and flowers! Well! ...these are a few of my favorite things!

...are you all singing now!...sorry...the dork factor again! ;)

Well, this challenge is perfect for me! I received the most fantabulous little package from this super ...SUPER... sweet blogging friend of mine...the great Julie Koerber... It contained the cutest little Penny Black stickers! ...and ....they are pink and green! Well, I knew I had to use at least one of these for this challenge! It's too perfect to pass up and, well, you can't get much more simple than that!

and...here is the first card....
How cute is that sticker! I'm so very thankful for you guys! I will confess that before this I had not heard of Penny Black. Keep in mind I am still relatively knew to stamping and my first and only exposure prior to starting this blog in August was Stampin' Up. It's so much fun to meet all of you and find all of these really fun stamps and accessories!

Ok...sorry if I am gushing! But you know I think you guys rock!

Back to the cards...and well...I am still keeping it simple. I did create two cards but I used my favorite layout and just changed a few things. I love this layout! It's simple and it works for a quick card. My first card literally took less than 5 minutes to put together. Talk about your EPLS!

So on to the second card. I used the other Pink Petticoat I printed out the other day that was sitting in my ginormous pile on my desk! I can barely see over that! I colored her with my copics used my favorite Stampin Up paper...and I only have a 6X6...roughly...piece left of this and will cry once that's gone! ...and viola! Another EPLS....

That's it for me. I cannot wait to see what you guys do with this challenge! I hope you have as much fun with it as I did! It's pretty cold as I post this...I know we will warm a bit today but this challenge has definitely gotten me in the mood for a hot sun, cold drink and a pool to enjoy it all
by!

Make sure you check out the rest of the Stamp Simply team...they are full of lots of good inspiration!

Take care each of you and I will post you soon! ;)

Another Pink (& Orange!) Petticoat

Good morning to you all! I have another new one to share with you guys. I really love this card! I created background paper using my Papertrey 'Boxes, Bags & Tags'. I also used Papertrey's Berry Sorbet & Summer Sunrise card stock and ink. The ribbon is Papertrey's Summer Sunrise twill. The image is from my Pink Petticoat. I used another one for Beate's inspiration challenge earlier this week...this actually started to be for something else but it ended up working for the limited supply challenge over at SCS! I think this is my first time to participate in one of those! Fun!

So here it is....

So how fun is she! I so love this stamp! ...and I will confess that I really love the pink and orange! LOVE it! This card just screams spring! ...my azaleas are finally getting ready to bloom so it is really starting to feel like spring as well! Finally! Although we do still have the heater on! It's been getting so cold here at night! Keep in mind, I am not from here....I'm still not totally used to the temp!

So that it's for now! Tomorrow is Sharon's Stamp Simply Challenge! Woohoo! Another fav of mine! I can't wait to show you what I've cooked up...and I'm super excited to see what you guys create!

Hope your day is absolutely fantabulous! Take care and I will post you all soon!

And Another Take On Page Plans....

Wednesday...hump day! I can't believe it's the middle of the week already! Where does the time go!?

So how fab is this weeks Page Plans sketch! You know I love it! Well this week I made a second card. I will warn you...no, not that it will burn your corneas...;) ...but that it will make you wonder what month it is! :)
I have this really cool stamp set that I purchased so long ago I can't even remember! I bought it because it was just the cutest thing ever! The problem...at that point I hated to color! ...Anything! When I bought this set I wanted one step stamping but it was so stinkin cute I couldn't resist! Now I am a color junky! ...which makes me oh so happy I still have this set! ...and now it's finally mounted and used! Just wait till Halloween rolls around! I have big ideas for this set! ;)

Meanwhile...let's have a little Halloween in April...hey...I've shared my photo of Donna and Heads Up Harry haven't I? If you weren't around then you have to check out this post if you have a chance....look here...you'll find a picture of both Harry & Donna at this post. I will share that on our street we have a little contest with the neighbors to see who can have the scariest house. This year, we added Donna and Harry to our collection...yeah....I think it put us over the top! ...all of the little kids said so anyway...hey...I scare faster than they do! ;) I also had a great time scaring my husband with Donna. She's really creepy! Ok...so one night when he was getting home from a trip I snuck her into our room...Yeah...he screamed when he got up to go to the bathroom that night! It was totally worth waking the baby up!

Ok...this post is telling more about myself than I probably should! ...It was hysterical though! We still talk about it! I think the funniest part is that I was able to get him with her more than once! We store her in the storage room in the basement...in dh's defense she is really creepy! I had to cover her up because it's shocking to walk in and see her there. I keep waiting for him to get her out of storage and get me back...Let's just hope he doesn't! Can we all say heart attack!

Back to the card....this is from the Best Friends stamp set from Stampin UP. It really has been such a long time ago...I can't even remember when this was offered! Ok...here it is....

Ok...first...I am such a huge addict....newly for sure...of sewing on cards! I have been faux stitching for such a long time but there is such a huge difference when you really sew on a card. Well...I don't have that Jenome mini sewing machine so I still have to pull my huge! machine out everytime I want to stitch and it has been just about everytime I make a card lately! How about that crazy stitch! I loved it! It really goes well with this little Franky!

I took an upclose photo to show off Franky's sparkly eyes...

How do you like those yellow whites! I especially like the blood red heart on his shirt! I achieved this by first coloring it with my R46 copic and then going over that with my black spica pen. Ok...I confess...it started out as a goof but hey...it really ended up working! Just go with it! That's my philosophy!

So what do you think? Have you guys tried this sketch yet? It's a fun one!

That's it for now. Man, I've been a stamping fool this week! ...and I have more to share! Can't wait!

Hope your Wednesday is just fantabulous! I am off to catch up around here! There always seems to be so much to do!

I look forward to posting you all soon! Take care and have a fantastic day!

Here's a list of supplies used:

1.) Best Friends stamp set from Stampin UP
2.) Designer paper from Stampin UP
3.) Green Galore card stock SU

One Verve Sketch Three Ways

There is this fab sketch over at Verve...yes, a contest is involved...the winner will be the guest designer for the month of June. Well, win or not this is a fun sketch and you know me...I'm a sucker for a great sketch! LOVE sketches! I love seeing all of the different interpretations and I love coming up with my own!

So while playing with this sketch I came up with three different cards that I really like. You can check the sketch out over at Julee Tilman's blog or at her Verve blog. Well, when I first saw the sketch I wanted to flip it and turn it into a mailbox. I really love when a sketch just 'looks' like something to me. Love it! Well here's how that one turned out....
The 'mailbox' even opens....

...how funny is it that there was only a one dollar bill in my wallet! I never have cash! :)

So then I had this great idea for turning a star into a flower. The trouble is once the 'flower' was created it looked really Christmas'y' so I had to turn it into a Christmas card. Here is that one...

...and finally...I had to use my heart stamp. I really love the heart from this set. It's spring and so I turned to pinks and greens. I had the perfect pink pearls for this one. Here's my final card...

So that's it. What a fantabulous sketch! This one I will definitely use again!

Thanks for stopping by! I am off to...well...clean my desk! You wouldn't believe how trashed it is! I look forward to posting you all soon!

Have a great night! ;)

It's Time For Beate's Inspiration Challenge!

It's Tuesday and that means .... Beate's inspiration challenge!...BIC11 ....Woohoo! I so love Beate's challenges! Her inspiration challenges are a huge favorite of mine. Let's face it...it's inspiration! ...you can go in so many different directions with each piece...there is no wrong way! LOVE that!

...ok...it's a good thing...because for today's challenge I have the cute and the 'what the heck was she smoking last night' to share with you.

Yup...you heard it right! Sometimes I amaze even myself at what I will share with you guys!

Ok...I will start with sharing the inspiration piece....

How cute is this! LOVE it! You know...Beate really has a knack for choosing some really fun pieces! She really helps to get me thinking!

Here is my first card which is pretty basic and yes...EPLS...(easy peasy lemon squeezy)...

My first thought was engagement and that led to one of my favorite Pink Petticoat images which led to this card. I love the yellow and I added the pink and green to pick up some of the other colors from the card. I also used my Papertrey paper and ribbon because the yellow was sitting on my desk and quite frankly it was screaming at me!

ok...that statement and the next card will confirm that I am ready for the rubber room! ;)
The other thing that screamed at me from this card was just gala...dancing....party....all of this led to disco ball...YES...I felt the need to try and create a disco ball! Ahhh!

Ok...either pull out your sunglasses or avert your eyes now!

...you've been warned....;) Here's my second card....

I'm so very sorry! I hope that I haven't burned your corneas. What can I say...if you are a regular here you know that sometimes I get a wild hair and there just is no stopping myself! ...for better or worse! My boys loved it! "It's sooo shiny"...that's what they keep saying and they are literally fighting over who gets to hold it! How stinking funny is that! ...guess I should have made two!

Whew...moving on! I can't wait to see what you all come up with! Be sure and check out the rest of Beate's BIC team. You know these gals rock! They are wildly talented!

My Very Awesome RAK From The Fantabulous Jackie Western

How's that for the longest title! ...hey....this is the sweetest RAK! I'm quite sure that you are all familiar with Jackie...isn't she such a sweetie! I just love her! :) Well, how excited was I when I found this little something in my mailbox...

...and check out a close up of that super cute key chain....

Wow! How super cute is that! This is just the cutest thing! Thank you so very much, Jackie! You rock! You are such a sweet friend!

...isn't she wildly talented! Too cute!

Hope you are all having a great night and I will post you soon! :)

Another Card Swap Reject

Ok...so you know I think I'm funny when I say that...the reject comment. I really like this card...I don't dislike it at all! I actually ended up thinking it just looked too much like something I had done in the past and wanted something different for the Gina K swap. You see, old olive is one of my favorite greens. In fact, when I need green I usually reach for this one. ...and I love green so I use old olive all the time! Pretty soon it all runs together for me!

Anyhoo...this is the first card I did for the Gina K swap and then decided I needed to do something different. ...this one has been sitting on my desk and I figured I better get a picture and show you guys before I send it to someone or it gets all mucked up...little fingers like to do the walking on this desk!

This card screams OOC to me...that would be because I did the stitching by hand! ***shaking my head*** ...and I have definitely been on a pinwheel kick. They're so cute and they scream spring to me.

That's it for now. I am off to get a few things done around here and I have to dash up to the school to get some stuff done there as well today. I hope that you are all having a great one!

I will post you all soon! :)

It's Time For Another Page Plans Sketch!

Well it's Sunday and that means another Page Plans sketch reveal! This was such a super fun sketch!

Here's this weeks sketch created by the fabulous Lesli Asay...
So what do you think? Is it getting your creative juices flowing? You know, I think there are so many different options with this sketch. I am going to share one of my cards today and then on Wednesday Chris and Lesli will be sharing a few more and I will share another one then.

Here's my first card using this sketch...

Can I tell you how much I love pink??? I really do love pink. It's one of my favorite colors and it just shows with this card. This is another Papertrey card basically! I used both my Green Thumb and my Boxes, Bags & Tags sets for this card. I also used my Pink Patterns paper as well as Sweet Blush card stock. I used Sweet Blush and Spring Moss ink and Sweet Blush satin ribbon. The sentiment was stamped in Basic Black ink from Stampin Up...oh, and the white card stock is whisper white and I used Kraft card stock from SU. The pearls are random from my LSS.

That's pretty much it. I love the pink! Love it! ...and I love this sketch!

Beate's Weekend Sketch Challenge

It's time for Beate's weekend sketch challenge! ...being the sketch junkie that I am, you know I have a hard time passing on a sketch! ...and Beate's sketches rock!

This week I decided to combine both Beate's inspiration piece from Tuesday and her weekend sketch challenge. I really love this weeks inspiration piece. It reminds me of a summer day. I stuck with the same colors and papers from my card on Tuesday and combined my Papertrey set with the gardening boots because gardening is my favorite summertime thing!

Here's what I came up with....Hope you are all having a great day! We started off pretty cold here but it's just beautiful now! I am heading out for a bike ride with the boys and will be back shortly to check out all of your blogs! I can't wait to see what you've all been up to!

Take care and I will post you soon!

Papertrey's Blog Hop

Papertrey hosted a blog hop tonight and there was such a fun challenge! To participate you had to print out a sheet that had 1 1/2 inch squares of the new designer papers. Well, I must confess this really got the creative juices pumping!

I'm only bummed that I will have to take the blog tour tomorrow...we have friends over tonight and it's just not going to happen this evening but I so cannot wait to see what everyone came up with!

Here's what I created....

I actually printed out the sheet twice because I wanted the striped paper for the main background. I hope that's not cheating. Then I used the Pond of Life set for the frog and sentiment. This is a new favorite stamp set for me! I love the little frog and it fits perfectly in this house of all boys!

How fun is this! Thanks for stopping by! I can't wait to see all of your creations!

Hope you are all having a great night! Take care and happy stamping! :)

An EPLS For AN SSC

LOL....(an easy peasy lemon squeezy for a stamp simply challenge)...get it???...

...Yes, I am a dork! But I am ok with my dorky-ness. Truly...I came to terms with that a long, long time ago! :)

Ok...in all seriousness...:)...It's time for Sharon's Stamp Simply Challenge! Wooohoooo!

Who's excited! I AM! This is the coolest challenge! This week we are to 'think outside the box'. Specifically, we need to use a stamp in a way that it wasn't intended. Like here....

I actually did this one a while back. I took a heart from a Verve Visual set and turned it into a puppy.

How about this one....Yeah, I know, you just saw this one not too long ago. I used the party hats from a Papertrey birthday stamp set to create an American Flag for this one. ...this is a hint as to what's coming...

...and then there's this one....The heart became the 'V' for the word Love....

Ok...so I know that you've all probably seen these before....you can all see why I was jumping for joy when I read about Sharon's challenge! I LOVE doing things like this! I guess I feel a bit like a rebel when I use something the way it wasn't originally intended...see!...I told you I was a dork! That just goes to show that I don't really live on the edge much in real life! But when I stamp! I throw caution to the wind! :)

...and here is what I came up with just especially for Sharon's challenge this week!.....and this is an EPLS....

I used the same birthday set from Papertrey to make some candy corn for this card. I don't know...these triangles really speak to me. I've now created the flag, candy corn, and a flower. This is a really versatile set!

So how much fun is this challenge! I hope you will all play along! I can't wait to see what you come up with! ...don't forget to check out the rest of Sharon's team. These gals rock!

It's Time For Beate's Inspiration Challenge! :)

How excited am I to be playing with Beate’s inspiration challenge! …and such a beautiful inspiration piece! Take a gander at this….
How beautiful is that! I must confess that there are so many different things that inspire me from this piece...the colors, the flowers....the fact that it totally looks like a beautiful summer day! I am going to share the direction my vision would take me with the supplies that I had on hand....I really need to do some serious inventory....I'm out of everything!!! ;)

Here’s my card for the fun challenge….

I have never used this stamp but I thought it fit perfectly with the flowers from the print. I also loved the colors so I stuck with them as well. This flower is from the Heartfelt Thanks set from Stampin' Up. I actually had to mount this set to make this card! I remember buying it whenever and it has just been sitting in my cabinet gathering dust ever since! I really should be ashamed! It's a really pretty set.

Be sure and check out the rest of Beate's Inspiration Team...these gals really rock!

It's Time For A Stamp Simply Challenge!

You all know how much I love Sharon Johnson! When I first found her challenges I was so excited...you know I tend to overthink and make things much harder than they need to be! How refreshing to 'Stamp Simply'. You know that simple or not, Sharon's creations are always beautiful! That's one talented cookie!

This weeks challenge is to use black as an accent to a card. Ooohhhh....I knew I loved this one when I heard it! I pulled out an oldie stamp...but one of my favorite oldie stamps for this one....

This is from the Laundry Notes stamp set from Stampin' Up! Do you guys remember this one? I knew when I saw it I had to have it! Retired or not, I just don't think I can part with this one. It's a fav. I colored it with my copic markers and for the flowers on the legs I used my spica pens....so there is a bit of sparkle...but the photo of course doesn't do that part justice...Throw in some flower fusion and then add some black card stock to my decorative paper and black buttons, brads, and gems to my flowers and voila! Love how that black makes the whole thing just pop! What an awesome challenge!

I took a closeup so that you could read the sentiment. What a riot! ...still can't really see the glitter though....***shrugging my shoulders...what do you do?

For more inspiration check out the rest of Sharon's Stamp Simply Team. Wowza! They're just gorgeous!
