One More...

It's such a beautiful Sunday here! I have gotten to do a bit of stamping today. I managed to finish one card and at least cut out all of the pieces for a swap. The problem for me is that the basement still stinks! I have been bringing my supplies upstairs. This is fine...hey, I'm getting something of a workout! Not a bad thing!

Here's one I actually finished.....

I love the Eco Chic set. The paper is new from Stampin' Up! It's called Haiku. I fell in love with this while at convention. I LOVE the colors and the patterns are beautiful. Definitely a fav! I love it with this stamp.

Supplies: Haiku dsp, Chocolate chip cs, White cs PTI, Copic markers, Tangerine Tango ribbon, scallop border punch SU

One more quick note. Tomorrow is September 1st! I know, I know...you're saying 'duh, Jenn!' right now! Well, I only bring that up to say that tomorrow we will be saying goodbye to Unity's August guest stamper and hello to the new. Cyndi Bundi is the newest addition. Welcome to the team, Cyndi! She's so wonderfully talented! I'm looking forward to all of her creations!

Hope you are all having a wonderful Sunday! I am off to work on some dinner and then stamp! Is it possible to stamp to much? Nah....never! ;)

Sunday!

I LOVE Sundays! My lazy day of the week! Even if we are heading off to church we go late enough that I can sleep in a little bit. There's no football, no school...homework is all done!, this is our family day!

...and it's Page Plans new sketch day! Lesli is up with this weeks sketch. Check this fun sketch out....

So...I'm still wading through the muck that is my basement. My card for this weeks sketch is EPLS! It was either that or stay and smell the grossness! I opted for EPLS. Here's my card....

I had just gotten my new SU order. I used Pink Pirouette dsp and Flower Fusion Too for this one. I also used one of the sentiments from PTI's Bitty Baby Blessings....once I looked at this one it just seemed to look like a baby card.

Well, that's all I have. Be sure and check out the rest of the Page Plans team. These gals are amazing!

I hope you all enjoy a lazy, fun day today! I will post you all soon!

Blog Candy Winner!!!!!

Woohooo! It's time to pick a blog candy winner! Woohooo!!!

Well, I put the numbers in to my random picker and lucky #33 came up....33....33....33.....belongs to the one and only batmom! Batmom! You are the lucky winner of this fantastic stamp kit from the ever so fabulous Unity Stamp Company!

Ok...and because it's me and I can't stand to have only one winner of anything! I chose two more winners for some surprise goodies....lucky number #17, Megsumner, and lucky #21 Karen.

Please email me your deets and I will ship your winnings off!

....and now I am off to try and figure out why I cannot seem to load a picture into blogger! Is anyone else having this problem! Ugh! ;)

Have a wonderful day! I will post you all just as soon as I figure this thing out! :)

The Red HOT Julie!

Ok...you know if someone googles something unmentionable they are gonna wonder upon this blog and think...??????what the heck???????

It's Stamp Simply Time!!!!! Sharon has the greatest challenge for us this week. We need to be inspired by the AMAZING Julie Koerber! You know I love her! She's just such an amazing talent and such a sweet gal! So what really comes to mind when you think of Julie...besides the whole talent thing! ;)...well, it's the color RED! So be sure and use this color in your project....read more here at Sharon's blog

Well, I pretty much cased her. You can find her card here....no I cannot compare! But I LOVE red! Here's my rendition.....

I had some furry red thing I was going to add but once I started mine didn't fit. It just wasn't as subtle as Julie's. I used a little Unity for the stamps...the ribbon pull is from Basic Grey....

That's it for me....be sure and check out the rest of the team....
Dee Jackson
Janine Orchard
Julie Koerber
Tammy Hershberger

Forgive the short post....I feel like I chatted your ear off earlier today! I am just trying to give you a break...that and I can hardly keep my eyes open! I hope you all find something to inspire you from Julie's blog/gallery. That I know is such an easy task. She is so talented!

I will post you all soon! :)

A Hip HOP...And A Boo To You!

Woohoo! It's hip HOP Thursday! This is definitely one of my favorite times of the week! Ok...the skinny on this weeks specials....

****The one penny stamp of the week is.....Trifle Sentiments with any order over $20 before shipping. This is one of my personal favs. Here's one I made with this set back in July. LOVE this set!

****Here's a list of this week's singles....1.) 'Wow' present from It's A Party, 2.) Dazzling Departure Butterfly from Butterfly Beauty, 3.) Cheery Santa from Holiday Cheer, 4.) Vintage Emblems from Vintage Blue Bells, 5.) Slim Vase from Bouquet of Blessings

****New release from Jessica Rose! This one is called Sweet ZZZZ's

****....And if this is your first Unity order ever, you get a free So & So Loves!

****As if all of this weren't enough....every order will have a mystery surprise stamp! Holy moly! I don't know what it is, but I know it will be soooo cute! Hey, it's from UNITY! :)

So moving on to a little hip HOPPING! Are you hopping yet? I am! Ok...that may just be because Hayden is grabbing my leg and trying to move me out the door! He's actually saying 'do'. That's his way of saying 'Hey you! Get me outta here!'. That's at least what his facial expression looks like!

Well, by now you guys all know that I love Halloween. It's such a fun time. One of the favorite things we do here is 'Boo' our neighbors. My boys LOVE this! Evan is still talking about how he booed the hardest house last year. See, we have a friend who was bragging that nobody would be able to sneak up on them. She had installed one of those motion animatronic thingys right by her front stoop. You know, the thought being that as soon as someone walked up, the thing would scream and the jig would be up!

Well, my son knew was very sneaky last year! I must confess I was quite impressed with him! He was only seven! He slowly walked to the front stoop and saw the thing and then walked quietly around the side and through her bushes and was able to put the bag on the door and ring the bell and run like the WIND before anyone even made it to the door! Kudos to him! He LOVES telling that story!

Wowza! Are you guys still reading??? Well, hopefully this won't disappoint....

I decided to make a 'Boo' basket this week. Here's what I came up with. I used Unity's Little Monsters set for this. Here is the entire basket....

Of course I took closeups of everything!.......

The poem.....

My little Franky candle.....

And what boo basket would be complete without CANDY! ...

Chocolate bars!!!!!.....

Supplies used: Little monsters & Worn Polka Dot Alpha, Kiwi Kiss card stock, Pumpkin Pie card stock, White card stock Papertrey, Basic Black card stock, Copic markers, Crystal effects, candel from Michaels, recycled wicker basket,...and yes that black and orange ribbon!

The only trouble with using this...there is NO WAY POSSIBLE that my neighbors won't know who it came from! When the boys saw it this morning they were ready to use it! Evan was already planning this years 'attack'! ...and five seconds after he makes it home the phone will be ringing with the neighbor calling to say 'GOT YA'!!!!

Now it's time to hop along!.....No blog candy here this week....to hop on over to....Patter Cross.

Good luck you guys! I will post you soon!

Crazy For You!

...and still feeling yucky! Ahh! I'm not sure I've shared yet or not...but I have the worst cold! I have felt just terrible since Sunday. Anyway, it's interfering with my stamping time!

Moving on....I have a little something to share....card wise.... I made this one using Unity's Be My Valentine & Je t'Aime....

I cannot for the life of me remember who made the DSP. The pink is, of course, Sweet Blush from Papertrey...it's my FAVORITE pink...as I'm sure you've noticed since I use it all the time! Yeah, I am obsessed! ;) It's all good though...

I hope you are all doing well. I am off to play with the little guy and find something warm to drink....you know...COFFEE! I so need a little boost right about now!

Post you soon!

Are You Feeling It?

Well, by that I mean my interpretation of Beate's wonderful inspiration challenge..today is BIC20 if you are uploading at SCS. I really love this piece. Check it out....
I really love this. I knew I wanted to use some folliage and the burgandy mat reminded me of fall...and since I just got this paper and stamp set from Papertrey...I went in this direction....

So what will move you with this piece? I can't wait to see all of the projects. Inspiration challenges truly are a favorite of mine. I love how there are so many things that might get you going.
Be sure and check out the rest of Beate's team for some more takes on this piece....
Hope you are all having a great day! I actually made a few of these as I needed some thank yous for different people today. I am off to send these. Clean my house....the filth! Ugh! Laundry....You know...all of that fun stuff that really gets your creative juices flowing!
I WISH! My house would be the cleanest on the block if that were the case!
Have a great day! :)

Fireworks & A Thanksgiving Invite...

Well, if your are still reading after being bombarded with all of my black and orange ribbon cards! ;) I thought I would share a few of the fireworks from last night and a little Thanksgiving invite I made a while back.
First the fireworks....

How fun! This was actually the perfect way to end quite a crazy day! We had an 8AM game then it off to grab a quick breakfast/brunch. Hayden needed a nap...that should have been the down time but there was a ton to catch up on around the house...then pickup Evan's uniform, grocery....Evan's game...and it only felt like it was 500 degrees outside!....then to a little carnival of sorts....to getting dinner....bed for Hayden....and I can't even believe he slept through the fireworks! We could see all of this from our front porch! It was amazing! ...and REALLY LOUD!
Ok...one card for now. I am going to finish up around the house after this and then I have to get some stamping done! Hopefully the day works in my favor!

That's it for me for a bit this morning. I will post you all soon! I hope you all have a wonderful day!

Not Again!

...ok...by that I am not talking about the fact that it's time for another fantabulous Page Plans sketch. I love my weekly sketches. Here's this weeks sketch in fact...

Ok...here's where you can all say....'NOT AGAIN!'...by that I mean, yet another Halloween card, yet another pumpkin pie and basic black card, and yet another card with that orange and black ribbon! Ahh! Someone stop her now!

...heehee...

I told you guys I love Halloween! Just wait, in a few weeks I will be sharing pictures of the Buck house decked out to it's spookiest! I did share about the annual challenge didn't I? You know I love a good challenge! Well, one of my neighbors made the mistake of challenging me to see who could be the spookiest. I'm game! So every year we get crazy with it! Halloween is so much fun! I already have so many ideas for this year! I cannot wait! Although, with Hayden now old enough to be scared, I will have to tone it down somewhat. Donna and Heads Up Harry may stay in the storage room until Halloween night when Hayden is asleep! Poor little guy got scared when we walked through Michaels the other day! Hey, I don't want to be responsible for that therapy bill!
Oh...on to the card....

Yeah, there are so many great Halloween colors out there but I only have this ribbon in orange and black. I picked this up from Flower Factory last year. I'm not sure if you guys have one of these stores where you live but if you do you should check it out! Now the ribbon is sort of hit or miss...but when it's hit you get stuff like this! 30 yards of really amazing ribbon that ties beautifully for a mere 3.17 per roll! That's barely 10 cents a yard! Can you even imagine! OHMYGOODNESS you gotta love a good bargain!

...unless you are my blog viewers and get stuck with looking at the same ribbon every day of the week! Ok...not every day but I do realize that's it's my second one in a row for Page Plans. I did just get this stamps set. LOVE the new Spooky Treats II from Papertrey! It got here Friday so it was perfect timing for this sketch. I love the witch up in the corner.

So now it's off to watch to fireworks. Sorry...I am getting this one ready Saturday night and there is a fireworks show going on outside in just a couple of minutes. I will post you all soon! Hope you can all forgive for the overuse of a fabulous ribbon! ;)

Have a great day! :)

A Background Challenge

It's time for Sharon's stamp simply challenge! You know that I really love this challenge! This weeks is such a fun one! Whatever your main image...use it in your background! EPLS! Right? I really love this technique! One of my favorite stamps to use for it is...well...anything PTI! I've used my Boxes, Bags and Tags set from Papertrey in this way...LOVE the look! But you know I have Halloween on the brain!

So for this Stamp Simply challenge #49 I chose to use Spooky Sweets...I was planning on going with something using the new Spooky Sweets set but mine didn't arrive today! Awe! **Insert sad face here....

And here's my EPLS card....

Loving the spiders! Spooky! Bwahhaaahhaa! ;)

A Little Stampin' Up!

So before heading to bed I thought I would share a quick little Stampin' Up! number. The trouble is I've been stamping and distressing what I am stamping and I have so much ink on my fingers I didn't realize until I got upstairs that I left a smudge on this card! Ugh!

Well, it's late...and I need some sleep! Tomorrow is Unity's hip HOP Thursday. If it's anything like last week I will need sleep just to keep up with everyone! So I am sharing my smudged card anyway! ...We will just pretend! ;)
Well, there you go! This is a little hint as well to a new something coming up! Man! I hate secrets! ;) But soon I will be sharing this one with you and I am hoping that you will all play along! That's all I'm going to say for now! If I keep talking (uh...typing!) I might just spill!

I hope you are all having a wonderful night! I am off to hit the pillow! I am so tired! I made four things tonight for tomorrows hoopla! I can't wait to share them with you! Angela has lots of goodies in store as well! I love her! She's so super generous!

She's BACK!

Woohoo! How excited am I! One of my favorite blogging friends is back! You all know how much I love Beate! :) Well, she's back to blogging! I so love her creative genious!

Today she has a great inspiration piece for us. Take a look at this....
I love this. Love the clean lines...LOVE the colors....In all honesty, I wasn't sure what to run with. I went for the colors and the lines! You know what's so great about these colors??? They look just like some of the new SU In-colors. I used Grey, Basic Black and my new Riding hood red, Kiwi kiss and Baja breeze for this one as well as my KOTM from Unity and came up with this....

Fun! LOVE this inspiration challenge! :) Be sure and check out the rest of the team....Charmaine, Danielle, Dawn, Silke, and Susan. How great is it to type this again! I have really missed these challenges!

Don't forget that if you get a chance to play, link your card or project at Beate's blog. If you are uploading at SCS be sure and enter the keywords BIC19.

Hope you are all having a great morning! I will post you soon! :)

Five Years Ago Today....

My life changed forever. Five years ago today I was told I had can
cer.

Talk about a thread killer! Ooo...poor choice of words there! Sorry. I know it always seems like such a 'downer' to talk about this but it really is all good.

Ok...maybe it didn't start that way...of course it didn't! ....

...There I was with my then 3 and 17 month old boys, sitting in the doctors office not expecting anything out of the norm when he tells me I have cancer. The world stopped moving for me at that moment....and I wished I could stop time. I was so afraid that I wouldn't be there to see those boys grow up. I was afraid that I would miss all of the firsts...first day of preschool, kindergarten.... Who would kiss their owies. I was numb.

Five years ago today.

One month of diagnosis....biopsies, scans, more biopsies.... Six months of chemo.... One month of radiation....that's what my tatoos are from, AJ... ;) I didn't elaborate because I guessed it would end up being a thread killer! ;) (there goes that word again!) They mark you to line up the machine that releases the radiation.

....it's not a thread killer though....

Five years later....

Two first days of preschool, two preschool graduations... Two first days of kindergarten, two kindergarten graduations.... Another baby! Never thought that was possible...chemo induced menopause...didn't realize I would come out of that.... So many firsts....sports, having the chance to teach my son to ride a bike!

My life isn't all roses, but I can certainly appreciate that there are so many areas that are better than I could have ever imagined.

One of the great things to come out of my diagnosis...I now take time for myself. This is something I never did before. Once the boys went to sleep there was always more things to do...cleaning...laundry... My friend and neighbor, Amy, introduced me to stamping. This is the perfect 'Me' time.

I am so very thankful for all of the lessons I have learned along the way. Don't get me wrong, if I were given the chance I would never have chosen this path...NEVER! Chemo sucks! ...sorry....there really is no good way to put it! They don't have a whole line of clothing with that sentiment for nothing! I still remember the poor nurse whose shoes were completely ruined when I ...ok....we will just leave that one alone....she is one of those sweet angels that really is here on a mission!

Ok...there you go! Don't be down! This is a good day...all in all....five years later...still cancer free...I am looking forward to at least another five!

Ok...have I completely bummed you all out?! I totally didn't mean to. This is a good day! One of the things that I remember from this day five years ago...that I didn't think I would be here. I truly thought that I wouldn't last six months! I had never known anyone to survive cancer. How amazing that here I am five years later!

See...it's all good! Yeah, I'm a completely different person...but I think it's for the best...I think the changes are all good. All right! Thanks for letting me vent! Today was a day of lots of hugs in my house. I am truly so very thankful for all that I have. You know, my boys are completely oblivious to this type of thing. They remember when mommy didn't have hair....but that's really it. They really don't remember all of the other stuff. I'm glad. Yeah, there was some fighting today. You know how brother's get on each others nerves! But all in all...this was the most amazing day ever!

...because five years ago...I didn't think it would happen!

Page Plans Time!

It's Sunday and that means it's time for another Page Plans sketch.

How fun is this! I love Chris' sketches! They are always fun! Well I couldn't wait to work on this one! Of course, given the time of year, all I can think of is Halloween! I pulled out my spooky treats from Papertrey for this one....The paper is retired from SU...the dripping paper is made using my Martha Stewart punch. I love this punch! I saw it at CHA and knew I had to have it! Thank goodness for those Michaels coupons!

Don't forget to link your creations if you get a chance to play along with this weeks sketch. I can't wait to see your beautiful work!

Have a great day! I am off to play with the boys.

Post you soon!

A Little Unity Number...

Hello to all my stamping friends out there! I am in the middle of regrouping here in the ole' basement. It currently looks as if a tornado went through it! First, because I have been really laid back about the toys that are moving all around...which is because...second, I have been a stamping fool this past week! Stamping what you may ask? Well, I can't say just yet! Yet! I think it is safe to tell you about one thing. Have any of you heard of Stampin' Up!? ...yeah, I'm laughing a bit right now! Who hasn't! Well, I have the great honor of being asked to help with a little monthly challenge they are starting. In fact they have asked all of the Artisan Award winners to participate. I am so excited and truly honored to be a part of this. I really enjoy stamping and it is such a pleasure to share what I love with all of you!

...more to come about that later.....I promise not to forget! ;)

Ok...so one thing I can share is this little number I created using my Unity stamps. This is from the Love Is Toxic set....a personal favorite of mine! Do you know how many favorites I have? I'm so glad I don't have to choose just one! Anyway, here's the card....

I love this set! Anything you can stretch for lots of different occasions is a great thing in my book! ;)

I hope you are all having a great day! I guess I should get back to it. I will share that I have bribed the boys with donuts! If they clean their mess...they get donuts in the morning. Guess we won't be getting donuts! They could give a rip! How funny is that! I really thought that would get them moving! Guess that's what I get for trying to take the easy way out! ;)

Hope you are all having a great day! I will post you soon! If I finish this mess I will hopefully get some stamping done and maybe get another post in. Who knows how it will go! I do need to finish up my projects for the class I am teaching. I have new stamps though! How horrible that they are sitting on my desk completely unloved!

Post you soon! :)

Casing Me!

So it's Stamp Simply time....time to case...myself??? I so love Sharon! I absolutely LOVE her challenges! So this week we are to pick a card from our blog or gallery and 'case' it.
...simple! ;) LOVE it!

So here's the card I chose to case....

How easy is this layout! I LOVE EPLS! The scallop was made with my new scallop border punch. Since I am loving that...and loving and wanting and EPLS...this is my choice....and this is my card....I changed the size of the card...the paper...and the stamp...but the layout is the same. This is from the Love Is Toxic kit....one of my favs!

That's it for me...be sure and check out the rest of Sharon's team...Julie, Dee, Becky, Tammy, and Janine.

Hope you all have a wonderful day and I will post you soon!

It's Unity's Hip Hop Thursday!

Yup...you heard that right! Now if you are coming here from the ever so talented Christi's blog then you already know what this is all about. If not, let me explain....

Unity Stamp Co. has a fun new weekly event called 'Hip Hop Thursday'. Follow the blogs to find yourself a little blog candy. On the way, you will find plenty of inspiration to get you stamping! There will also be free stamp kits...three lucky winners will receive one of these...and a single that will be sold for a mere $5....and 10% off of all orders today!

Holy moly! There's so many goodies!

Ok...so on to a couple of cards from me. My first card uses a couple of Unity stamps. Have you seen DooDads? I love this little set. It's perfect for scrapbooking...but I just knew I had to make a card with it! The paper is from October Afternoon, the chipboard is SU.

With school starting for us it seemed perfect. This card is just what our excitement level was at yesterday! My sons were thrilled to be back! No words necessary...we've all had moments like this!

On to my second card....the one that SCREAMS! my name!.....

This is Shopaholic....I knew I had to have this one! Perfect! I used this weeks SCS for this card....a little bit of glitter and there you go! The paper is Papertrey....the chipboard is???....

But hey...onto the next step to get you closer to the prize! Good luck and thanks for playing along!

...and now off to....

AJ! You know I love her! She is such a sweetie and so super talented. I can't wait to see what she has in store for us.

Have a good one! :)
