Happy Halloween! & WSC25

Well here it is! Finally a project! The UPS man arrived and, with a slight scare from Donna & Heads up Harry, he delivered my stamp! What a relief! After a night filled with trick-or-treating and lots and lots of candy, all of the kids are asleep and I am able to stamp!

So here's what I've done. I hope you like it!

Unfortunately, I haven't journaled or printed my picture yet. In all honesty, I am impressed that I have accomplished this much tonight!

Here's my Z card opened and closed.

Happy Halloween! :)

Stalking the UPS Man

So....yes, I'm a stalker! Usually this only happens once a year. Specifically during the month of June. I was preparing myself for it occurring twice a year now with the Stampin' Up! catalog coming out twice a year. But now, with an idea brewing in my head and a stamp set on the way, I am stalking once again! What's worse....tomorrow is Halloween!

Generally I think this is a great time of year. It's fall! This is absolutely my favorite season here. It's, in my opinion, the most beautiful. I love decorating and I love taking the boys trick-or-treating. This, however, is also why this is a bit of a bummer!

While I have my card stock cut and ready to go, I am anxiously waiting for my new stamp set to complete my project. How frustrating! It's still such a shock that there is actually a stamp set that I have yet to purchase! With as many as I have stacked and waiting to be placed on ebay, it's a shocker that there is nothing else that would work!

What can I say, nothing is screaming to me like Glorious Garlands this week!

For this, I apologize! Hayden is actually sleeping. I currently have nothing but time, and yet I am not posting anything!

Stay tuned! My hope is to post not only my card tomorrow but also the scrapbook page that is completed and waiting the costume picture from the boys. If all goes well, I will have at least two projects to post tomorrow!

***fingers crossed!!!

See you tomorrow and Happy Stampin'!

I've been tagged! :)

Wow! I'm so excited! Thank you so much Diane for tagging me! I love these things! As per the rules I am supposed to link to Diane, as she tagged me, and then tag seven other people. So in addition to the two that I already know (Ann, my sister & Amy, my friend in my stamp club) I am going to choose five other people who's blogs I drool over daily!

So here are the rules....

First, link to the person that tagged you and post the rules on your blog. That is, of course, Diane. You can find her amazing blog & tons of inspiration here....http://djluvs2stamp.blogspot.com/!

Second, share 7 random and/or weird facts about yourself (on your blog, we all want to know them).
1.) I was a flight attendant for the longest time....
2.) ....7 years in fact, until I was in a plane crash!
3.) I'm deathly afraid of flying.
4.) I have three beautiful boys....and they were all really big babies!....9lbs 1oz, 10lbs 11oz, & 9lbs 6oz.
5.) I am a cancer survivor.
6.) I hate jolly ranchers because of chemo. Seriously, the smell will make me toss my lunch!
7.) I never knew I would dig frogs! My older boys each have 3...6 total. I must confess that, as sick as it sounds, I really like watching them catch the crickets. Sorry little crickets! :(

Third, tag 7 random people at the end of your post and include links to their blogs. Woohoo.... here goes....
1.) Ann Batson http://annbatson.blogspot.com/
2.) Amy Mick http://flyingwithfour.blogspot.com/
2.) Taylor VanBruggen http://tayloredexpressions.blogspot.com/
3.) Beate Johns http://beate.blogs.splitcoaststampers.com/
4.) Sharon Johnson http://notimetostamp.blogs.splitcoaststampers.com/
5.) Tracy Durcan http://durcandesigns.typepad.com/stamping/
6.) Michelle Wooderson http://michellewooderson.blogspot.com/

Finally, let each person know that they’ve been tagged by leaving a comment on their blog.

Cool! I will do that now! Thanks again, Diane, for inviting me to play!

Have a great night everyone! :)

October Card Swap

Ok...I'm thinking I may have finally mastered my Corel Snapfire! Or maybe it's just because I finally realized that the reason it wasn't working entirely was that it hadn't been unlocked yet. One call to Dell and I'm on my way! I can now add text to my images! Woohoo! :) I will say that unless there is more to learn...gee, you wonder?! I can't figure how to get my text any larger than this. It's a bit of a disappointment. Hopefully I'm missing something or I need a new program! I did like how it let me put all of our cards together, though.

....drum roll please!.......

.......................& here they are!!!........

Aren't they fab! This is what keeps me on my toes! This is Diane and Lauren's first swap and they were both embossing! Of course Meg's card is embossed all over the place! Even Bobbi & Lisa's were embossed! It was a night of embossing! Both Jen and Carol had some really cute bat's on their cards!...I'm thinking I need that punch!
I hope you enjoy them. Card swap has been such a great place for great ideas. Love it! Everytime we swap there is something new and something really beautiful to see!
Looking forward to next months!
Take care and have a great night!
edit: I just realized...or am having computer problems...but when I tried to click on this image to enlarge nothing happened. Just in case you have the same problem. The pictures are from left to right and then top to bottom....Jennifer S, Bobbi, Lauren, Carol, Meg, Diane, Lisa. I'm thinking I don't really like my computer program after all. At least not for this type of thing. Please if you a program you really like, post it for me! Thanks! :)

It was a good thought but...

So he sleeps now! About 15 minutes into my stamping, Hayden wakes up. Poor kid! He's just not the best sleeper! Ok, ok, it's our fault. What can I tell you. I can't stand to hear the poor kid cry!

Anyway, here's what I did.

Thanks, Nancy! She is another of my friends that stamps with me. She had the genious idea of using the wrapping paper for cards. Clever! You know, she's a little like the energizer bunny! Mom, President of the PTO, Room Mom, avid stamper...how on earth she does it I'll never know! She made a cute little candy holder for the Halloween party at school...for every child in the class! Adorable! I will have to get a picture and post it. They were really cute!

Obviously this is a pretty simple card. In fact there is next to no stamping! ***Man, I really miss Fancy Flexible Phrases! But I think it's sort of cute anyway.

I tried it earlier in the week with this one....

Obviously this still needs a little tweaking. I think I will try it again at some point. So that's the extent of my stamping for today. I'm really hoping to get lots of stamping done over the long weekend. :)

Off to stamp but first...

The baby sleeps! ....wooohooooOOOOOOO!

I am hopefully off to a fun night of stamping! I have some great ideas....I already know what I want to do for our November card swap...no pressure on anyone else...;)wink,wink. (...who knows how it will turn out!) I have to order a stamp for that card. Yes, it's hard to imagine me needing to order any stamp set! So while I wait I will see what else inspires me.

Anyhoo...before heading down to the cold basement!...I thought I would post this picture that has been a thorn in my husbands side all day! He was fortunate enough to get to go to the Indianapolis/Jacksonville (29-7! woohoo!) game Monday night....I'm telling you he has such a hard job! ;) Anyway, somehow the Indianapolis Star caught him mid cheering! Here's the photo that was online at the website...

...........................................(Colts #1 Fan!)

He's the one in the blue jersey with his standard visor. All day he's had people asking him if he gives dancing lessons and how much he charges. Poor guy! It's made it's way around the world. Literally! Even some of his customers in India have emailed!

It was a great game! I myself was not there. Someone had to be on parent duty. Quite frankly, I fell asleep before it was really going! I do have it recorded on the DVR and hopefully will be able to see it while I am stamping tonight. What a great season the Colts are off to! Hopefully I won't miss every game this year!

Go Colts!

My October Card Swap Card

So here's my card from our latest card swap. It is my hope to figure out a way to put a name on each of the images I have of all of our cards and post them on this blog. Hopefully that knowledge will come before the completion of our next swap! Meanwhile, this was my contribution. Hope you like it!

Scrapbook

Here's a scrapbook I did for a friend a couple of years ago. I found it while looking for more pictures on my computer. I really enjoyed doing this. Hope you like it!

One of my favs...

Have you ever been so inspired and, regardless of what the outcome, you think it's your best ever? ...feel free to post your own on that. This little card is one of those.

For our June card swap we all had to use our favorite outgoing Stampin' Up! stamp set and/or products. All Mixed Up is definitely one of my favorite sets. That's sort of funny as when I first saw it in the catalog a year ago I wasn't so sure. I thought it was cute and I really liked the example, but that was as far as I could see it go. Since then, I have been inspired! ...i.e. my little Halloween number and this one.

I tease Meg about her patience for the tedious. She will spend hours embossing every little detail or cutting out the tiniest little thing! In the end, I can see why. It always adds the finishing touch to a really cute project. On both of my cards using this stamp set I did the same thing! From cutting out the little hands on my Halloween card to staming the little girls smile upside down. I get it, Meg! ;) Sometimes spending the time on something so small really makes a huge difference!

So here's the card. It's actually three pages. The third page which is not pictured says 'I'll miss you most on rainy days'.

Menu Planner

Here's a little something that I 'cased' from Taylor VanBruggen. So what does 'cased' stand for anyway? Anyway, I absolutely am a huge fan of eveything Taylor! I love her stuff. You can check it out...if you haven't already by going to her blog at http://tayloredexpressions.blogspot.com/ ....such cute stuff and such great ideas!

This is the cover....

Here's one of the inside pages....

Hope you like it. I borrowed this idea for a card swap last month. Thanks so much, Taylor, for letting me post this. I absolutely love this idea!

New link on my site...

I wanted to take this opportunity to thank Diane for all of her help with this site! I must confess I am a bit blog illiterate! If it weren't for Diane this would be a photo-free blog! I've added her blog to my favorite sites. Her site is 'My Little Stampin' Spot'. You should check it out her cards are great!

Thanks so much, Diane!

October Technique

Well, it was a great time getting together with all of you yet again! I really enjoy spending time with each of you and sharing some fun stamping time! Thanks so much, Carol for the great snacks and for allowing me to put out some Tastefully Simple items in preperation for my show in a couple of weeks!

At this get together we learned the how to's for a little candy holder I came up with. I posted a picture of the valentine one that it all started with. Last night we made this one. I really love these little things. It's just a little spin on the candy holder.

Hope you like it! Thanks so much for all of you who were able to make it!

Another old card...

I posted this one on SCS a while back. This was quite a change for me as at that point I had really not used these colors that much. I think it turned out ok. It's pretty basic.

Thanks for looking!

Halloween 2006

For our card swap in 2006, I made this accordian card. What a great idea! I'm not sure who thought up the accordian card but I really love the design! This particular stamp set is one of my favorites. The picture on the right uses the same set. That card is from our 'Fond Farewell' card swap in June. I think there are so many possibilities with this stamp set and I really did hate to see it go! I've taken pictures of the cover, center and last page.
Thanks for looking!

Teacher/Card Swap Birthday Card

I did this for my older sons kindergarten teacher a couple of years ago. I also made a scrapbook for her that matches this. I was the room mom for his class so all of the kiddos made a page that went into the book. If I find the picture of the book I will post it. I think it's on the other computer. The book turned out really well...actually, I wanted to keep it for myself! I also used the card for our card swap that month.

Thanks for looking!

Last paint can...

This one I did just because. As it matches my kitchen, it's sitting on the counter in there for now. I'm not sure what I made it for but I really like the paper. I have some cushions on my bar stools that match this almost perfectly. This was the first full size paint can that I fully covered. I think I said earlier...I'm not one for measuring....the handles are a challenge for me because of this! I may need to rethink the whole measuring thing if I continue to do these!

Thanks for looking!

Charbon Paint Can

I used the charbon for this paint can. First, Basic Gray became one of my favorite colors after this and used in combination with Purely Pomegranate...to die for! I love the combo! Second, can't say enough about the pretties kit!

Hope you like this one.

Camp Project

I can't really remember when we did this camp. I really love paint cans! I'm not sure how many of them I've slapped paper on but it's a lot! I think this one turned out well. I am also a decorative paper freak so that's probably part of the reason I love the paint cans so much.

Hope you like it.

Another of my firsts...

I made this for my husband for fathers day my first year of stamping. This was one of my first cards. Who knew there was glossy paper! If I had, I wouldn't have embossed this one about twelve thousand times! This was my first time to emboss. Regular embossing I love!

Hope you like it!

Our August technique was dry embossing

For August we were learning how to dry emboss. Might I say...again with the Meg Magic, her favorite technique is embossing of any kind...she makes it look easy...I found it to be a bit of a pain. I'm hoping that with a little more practice I will learn to love dry embossing as much as she does. I think my card turned out really cute but I think I am abusing the scallop punch at this point! Or should I say, I am abusing my other tools as they are not getting to 'play' quite as much as the scallop punch these days!

Hope you like it!

My first card

This is my first real card...aside from the one that I stamped all over with my new kit a few years ago. This is the first attempt at anything! I made a few and used them for my sons friends birthdays for the rest of the year. Ha, everyone got the same card!
I really liked this stamp set. It was great for little boys. This is one I miss and will hold on to forever!
Thanks for looking!

Valentine 2007

Here's my valentine 'card' from 2007. I really love this one! Although my recipe...we are required to provide one at each swap...was rather difficult as I am really an 'eye' kind of girl. I really don't like measurements.
I must say I am so glad that Stampin' Up! kept this ribbon, even though it's a different color. I'm not a huge fan of the ribbon collections but I really love this one! It worked perfectly for this project.
Thanks for looking.

So here I am posting like crazy...

Ok...so I keep thinking this site is pretty bleak! I really haven't posted much of anything and as I said in my post yesterday, things are pretty crazy around here right now! I was telling a friend of mine...my bff as my oldest son says (do second graders really say that?)...how I was feeling sort of blocked lately. I could here the violin. She after all has FOUR children and can still manage to whip out some pretty dynamic stuff! If only I could measure up! :) ...it's all said in fun...but for anyone who knows Meg and is part of our little card swap...they know it's true! I need a little of the Meg Magic!

Anyway, in order to make this site a little less bleak...hopefully....I am going to post some old stuff. Hopefully something will grab you fancy! I will give a little description...hopefully the images will be exciting enough to keep you awake through the text!

Enjoy!

Feverishly working on cards...

Feverishly! That's almost comical this weekend! I've had a difficult time doing anything other than keeping up! Everything I've done has been done feverishly! Between games and parties and all of the other stuff that life brings, things have been quite hectic! I'm definitely feeling a bit behind the eight ball for next weeks card swap and technique! I did manage to get a few cards finished, although I'm not sure any of them are worthy of swapping...or anything else for that matter!

Here's one I've been working on. I can't seem to get Halloween off of my mind. So nothing but that was really speaking to me. Hopefully one of the cards I've been working on will due!
Enjoy...it's nothing out of control but the boys rated it number 1! Of course that took a lot of prodding! They rated all three of the cards I did tonight as number 1! I really love how objective they are! ;)
Thanks for looking!
