Sweet Tami {& Clearsnap}

Hey Peeps!  Back today with a little something from Tami Mayberry using some awesome ink from Clearsnap.  Take a peek....

This is one of my most favorite stamp sets.  You can find it at Gina K's website and it's from the super talented Tami Mayberry.  The paper is Bazzill Basics and the ink is from ColorBox.  I've used Mudslide to distress this one...this is my FAVORITE color for distressing.  I love the way it looks.

Hope you've enjoyed!  :)

Stamp Simply Time!

It's Stamp Simply time! I'm so very late with my project today. We've had a sick little one here so it's been crazy! Finally a moment of peace to actually upload my project! Sorry this will be super short and sweet. ;)

For all the deets on this fun challenge check out Sharon's blog. Here's my take on this weeks challenge.....

I pulled out an oldie but a goodie for this one. This one uses one of my favorite Gina K's. I really love this stamp. You pull out the white card and it's printed with one of my favorite summer recipes. (Which is EPLS!)

Pasta Salad.

Your favorite pasta, I use Gemelli...whole wheat...yikes....but I LOVE it!, veggies (bell pepper, red pepper, tomato, black olives...ok, not really a veggie, any of your favorites), cheese, shallots, a light dressing. My favorite is Girard's Light Champagne.

Cook the pasta to al dente. While it is cooking chop the shallot and add it to the dressing in a large bowl. Chop the veggies and add them. Rinse the pasta with cold water once it finishes and then combine and toss with the veggies. Add cheese. EPLS! :)...and YUMMY!

Now head on over to the rest of the team.....

Stamp Simply Birthday! :)

Did you know it's Sharon's birthday!? ...be sure and wish her a happy one when you stop by her place! ;)

...and it's Stamp Simply time! :) This weeks challenge? Create a birthday card...ok...not just any card....here are the deets straight from Sharon's blog....

"Today is my birthday, my 55th birthday!!! Oh good gracious, how did that happen!!! I don’t feel a day over 25 (most of the time)!!! So today we will make a card that is suitable to give to a Senior Citizen!!! Yes, I know Senior Citizens like ALL types of cards, but today let’s try to make a card that when we look at it we think — gee, that sure looks like an *Old Lady* card — LOL!!! (or Old Man, if you prefer). This is totally open to your interpretation — you could go vintage, you could go humorous, or anything else you can dream up — WHATEVER strikes your fancy!!! Most importantly, have fun!!! Can’t wait to see what you do!!!"

Ok...again...

Happy Birthday, Sharon! :)

This one gave me the greatest excuse to pull out one of my favorite Gina K sets. Take a peek at this.......

I LOVE this set! I opted for monochromatic for this one and because I LOVE the whole sentiment I decided to cut and piece it on the front....I'm to impatient to have to wait to see the whole thing! ;) ...Hmmm....senior citizen.....well, this little guy certainly qualifies...but I am going to share....this will totally be my hubby's birthday card this year! ;) What a hoot! ;)

Ok...now be sure and check out the rest of the SS team..... Julie, Janine, Tammy, Dee, Becky, AJ, and Deb. If you play with this one be sure and upload to your blog and/or SCS using the keyword ssnotime70 ...and then link them to Sharon's blog.

Hope you are all doing well! I will post you soon! :)

A Recipe & A Blast From The Past

Hey all you happy stampers! How's your weekend? I was planning on posting something for you today but then we woke up to the most beautiful snow! We've had so much playing all day!

I wanted to share the gumbo recipe with you guys....if I don't do it now I will completely forget! And let me share that with recipes I am not a follower if I am not baking. I will try to get as close as possible but some of it is just to taste. So here goes.....

Chicken Gumbo...but for Thanksgiving it's Turkey Gumbo!

You will need:
Chicken/Turkey I have no clue how much...I usually will pick up a roasted whole chicken from the grocery and use this. With turkey leftovers it's just whatever we have left.
Sausage about a lb
flour
oil
2 bell peppers
onion
2 celery stalks....the veggies are a guestimate as well....chop all veggies
salt
cayenne pepper
2 bay leaves
Chicken stock...probably about 8 to 10 cups....if your gumbo gets dry you can always add water. If you don't have chicken stock you can start with water.

Directions:
Cut the sausage up. I cut mine down the length of the sausage and then again in half...brown in a saute pan, remove and drain. Saute the veggies in this pan.

While those are cooking, in a dutch oven put about 1/2 cup of oil and 1/2 cup flour. You want to brown the flour until it's dark...I like dark roux...
***easy trick...you can buy roux at the grocery store. I've never used it so I can't say how it tastes but I do realize that making a roux is a bit of a pain! ;)

Once your roux is ready, add the veggies and meats, the chicken stock, the bay leaves and salt and cayenne to taste. Bring this to a boil and then reduce the temp and cook the heck out of it all day! ;)

Ok...you really only need to cook it for an hour or so, but it will taste better the longer you cook it.

Serve over rice and top with Gumbo Filet powder...that is optional but I LOVE filet on my gumbo! :)

This is really an easy one. The hardest part is the roux...again, you can buy it at the store which will cut down on the cooking time.

Ok...and on to a blast from the past. I pulled this one out to share because I thought it would make a nice stocking stuffer for a little girl.....

....You would need to change the sentiment, but how fun to create this and then stuff it in a stocking! The tin is a paper doll holder. You could put anything in it. This is one of the little Altoid tins that I picked up at Gina K. The stamp set is also from Gina K...it's one from Melanie Muenchinger 'What's In Your Tin'.
Inside, there are paper dolls, chocolate, a paper ring, pinwheel. So many fun things.
I created mine for a get well, this is the poem inside.

By switching a few things you would be ready to go. The little tins themselves are only a couple of bucks and the little nuggets fit perfectly in them. Even to fill them with chocolate they make a perfect little something for a teacher or child....anyone that you might want to give a little something more than a card.

Hope you enjoy the gumbo! ....and that you have a wonderful day! :)

I will post you in a bit...Sharon's celebration begins soon!

The Rose

Happy Sunday! I thought I would share a little inspirational card today that I made with this fantabulous new set from the ever so talented Melanie Muenchinger. This set is called A Year Of Flowers. LOVE it! It's fab-U! I fell in love with the flowers instantly. Melanie is so super talented. I am such a HUGE fan! Her images are usually so whimsical and fun. This one just shows how incredibly versatile and talented she is. It's so elegant and beautiful.

How BEAUTIFUL is this flower! They are all gorgeous! As I started working with it I wasn't sure what direction I would take. I have a TON of these flowers colored and cut out! ....that's for another day! ;) But then I read this quote and decided to take a simple route....which I think is perfect for this one!

I used PTI card stock...white, kraft....and pure poppy ribbon. Then I colored the flower in with my copic markers.

That's it for me for right now. I have another one that I need to get posted today...hopefully I will have it up before bed! It's been one of those lazy Sunday afternoons here! Gotta love that!

Day 3 With Gina K

Awe! Can you believe it's time to say goodbye! *insert sad face here! ;) you know it's not a real goodbye! I am such a fan of Gina's! She can't get rid of me that easy! ;)

Today is, however, the last day of my guest design spot. I have truly had so much fun with this! What a fantastic week this has been! :)

I have two to share with you today. One Christmas and one Halloween. Here's my little Halloween card. This one uses Happy Haunting.

How fun are these little trick or treaters! LOVE them! I made this little fancy lable on black card stock to look somewhat like a chalk board. Then stamped the sentiment in white craft ink and went back with my sponge to add some more white. I love this giant orange ric rac. It's my fav and I am bummed that I am almost out! I need more! lol! I watercolored the little trick or treaters. They are so adorable! :)
Here's my next one. I didn't put a sentiment on the front of the card. I was thinking you could go in so many directions with this one. I am thinking that the inside should say naughty or nice! lol! Ok...sorry...it would be cute! You could give it to your hubby! Whoever you give it to and whatever the occasion you use it for it's one of my favs! I really love this little dress! I couldn't find my liquid applique so I opted for liquid pearls and then covered that with glitter. The ribbon is my new fav from Target.
That's it for me! I cannot believe that my three days are up! :( It's all good! I have so many Gina K's! I love her stuff! ;) You will see more from me! :)
Thank you again, Gina! I have truly had so much fun doing this! It has been my pleasure and honor to create samples for you! Thanks for being you and for all you do! You're amazing! :)

Day 2 With Gina K

Today is day two of my guest design spot with Gina K. I have really enjoyed working with Gina and her amazing stamps. This has truly been such an honor and I have had so much fun! I just have to say, these last couple of days have been beyond amazing. Thank you so very much for all of your kind words and well wishes. I feel so very lucky to be doing what I love. That there are so many wonderful friends out there just makes this even more amazing! Thank you! Thanks for being so kind and supportive! I really love sharing with you.

So how about I share my day two project? Asela Hopkins is one of the stamp designers over at Gina K. She's such an amazing talent. I really love her work and am so happy that she does what she does! I used Botanical Dreams for this one. This is such a fun set. I see so many possibilities with it. I love that! If I can pull lots of different occassions out of one set I am THRILLED! I used this set for Christmas.

The paper is retired from SU. I have a sad face even as I type that! This was one of my favorite Christmas packs. I hoarded it! ...which explains why I have any left at all! I picked this ribbon up at Target. Love when I find stuff like this. I got this HUGE roll for not a lot of money! It was in the 'wedding' stationary section. I picked up the roll of red which matches Real Red and the brown which matches Chocolate chip. Two of my favorite colors!

I colored the leaves with my copic markers and then went back with my red liquid pearls and just added some dots for berries. The ribbon isn't really tied all the way around. I glued a strip down and then used my two hole punch and punched a spot at the base of the leaves and tied a small strip there...just to look like it was tied through. I'm guessing that's about as clear as mud! Sorry about that.

Well, I am off to get the boys some breakfast and send them off to school. I will be back in a bit with todays BIC challenge. FUN one! Just want to say thank you again! I cannot promise I won't keep getting all mushy on you guys! This really has been such an amazing week and I am just feeling so blessed to be right here right now!

Post you all soon!

How Exciting!

Wowza! I have some really fun stuff to share with you guystoday! I don't even know where to begin! Hmmm.....

How about last February when I had the most amazing conversation with one of my stamping idols the one and only Gina K! Holy heck batman! She actually asked if I would like to be a Guest designer for her in September! OHMYGOSH!

Now you have to understand that back then I was doing not a whole lot other than challenges. I LOVE challenges! I was completley blown away that she even knew who I was! I was such a huge fan of hers and totally in love with her stamps! Guest designer! Are you kidding! Yes, yes, YES!

Well a secret lover I am not! Do you have any idea how hard it has been keeping this secret for this many months! Ugh! This is the kind of secret you like to have but I was ready to shout it from the roof tops! Happy that I finally can! You guys know that I met Gina when I was at CHA....
Isn't she just the cutest thing! Love her! And she's is one of the sweetest people you will ever meet!

Well, I have been working with some super cute stamps from Gina and over the next three days will be able to share those projects with you! The first is one of my favs. This is from Gina's Happy Haunting set. I so LOVE this set. It's got trick or treaters and this...the spookiest silhouette house ever! Getting this picture was quite a challenge! Not only because the lighting was so hard to try and figure out! (Thank you, Gina, for helping me out!) ...but also because my jelly beans kept mysteriously disappearing! I must have a house full of jelly belly gremlins! They're the cutest little gremlins you ever saw! Of course, being their mom makes me just a little biased!

Thanks for stopping by you guys! And a super big thanks to Gina! This was truly such an honor! I am so excited to have had the opportunity to work with you!

Post you all soon!

Let's Sew One On!

I really should start these with a little 'dork alert'...I need a special beeper or something...maybe a flashing banner...something...

Ok...back to the post. It's time for Sharon's Stamp Simply Challenge #34 and what a fun challenge it is this week! All we have to do is sew....whether it's faux or real...on our cards. You know sewing is my new favorite thing! I love to sew on cards and can't seem to stop! Even though it means dragging my really big sewing machine out and plopping it on my desk...pushing all of the junk out of the way to make room...I LOVE to sew!

...Well, I am obviously really excited about this one! If I had more energy I would link you to about a dozen cards made over the last couple of weeks but I must confess that at the time I am posting this I have the worst migraine and just cannot wait to hit my pillow! ...hey...and I made it through an entire school musical!...that I am still standing is amazing!

Ok...so to the card...This somehow felt 'patch work-y'...(just smile and nod). I also used my copics which I am truly, truly in love with! This really was a simple card. I will confess to still being 5 and loving to color so I really enjoy using these markers.

Be sure and check out the rest of Sharon's team: Julie Koerber, Dee Jackson, Tammy Herschberger, Janine Orchard, Becky Oehlers. These gals always have just the cutest projects and always inspire.

Hope you are all doing well! I will post you once the migraine has passed.

Another Gina K Card Swap...

Hello to you all! It's been such a crazy day today! I have so many flowers laying around the gargage! I had a wild hair yesterday because the weather was so nice to get out and get some flowers. Well, I came home with a car full! I was able to get some planted last night after Hayden went to bed but still have so much to do! I get a little crazy with the flowers every year! I'm going to be kicking myself in a month or so when I have to keep up on the watering!

Anyway, I don't have anything new to share this morning. I finished my card for Beate's inspiration challenge tomorrow...but you will have to wait until then for that one. I do have another card for the other Gina K card swap I participated in. I thought I would share that. This one was really EPLS! I absolutely love the colors! Oh...I guess I should show the card! ;)

For both swaps I used the What's In Your Tin 2 set....such a fun set...and the paper is from my old Apple Cider from Stampin UP. I really love this paper...and yes, I'm hoarding it! I'm so trying not to but that is still really hard for me!

Ok...I'm off. I hope all is well with each of you! I hope your weather is just as beautiful as ours is! I'm so loving today! It's just gorgeous outside!

Take care and I will post you all soon! :)

A Gina K Card Swap 'Card'...

Hello to you all! I hope you are having a fantabulous Friday!

I'm just finishing up some cards for Page Plans....can't wait for this weeks reveal! Have you gotten a chance to participate in the current sketch? There is still time if you want to be included in the drawing for some goodies! ;)

I thought today would be the perfect day to share one of my Gina K card swap 'cards'. I keep putting that in quotes because this one isn't really a card at all! This was a super fun swap! We each were to choose a stamp set from the March releases and create a card using that set. I actually signed up for two swaps...but I used the same set for each. My set was the 'What's In Your Tin 2' set from Melanie Muenchinger. What an awesome set! I love it!

How excited was I when I was told it was a-ok to use the little altoid tins for one of the swaps. I had actually just purchased some of them prior to finding the swap so I was super excited! I decided to create a little container for a sick girl. At the time of the swap posting there was lots of talk about the people close to us that were sick and one of them is a little girl...ok...she's little to me! Being a cancer survivor, it was really hard to hear of her being diagnosed....chemo really stinks and to think of a anyone but especially a child experiencing that is so hard! Luckily she is on the mend...still in treatment but doing very well!

...anyway...getting a little too deep....I am going to need to go and hug my kids and play a bit with them after this post...ok...this is what I created....
When you open it this is what you see.....

Here's another one with all of the stuff out....

How fun! There's a paper doll with lots of different outfits, chocolate, a paper ring, and a paper flower. This is one of the most fun things I've ever made! I really enjoyed it! It was actually really easy as well! The 'What's In Your Tin' set has a stamp that fits this tin. Since I was using the decorative paper I ended up only using it for a template. I also used my sizzix machine and the doll body and clothes to create the paper dolls....can't get much easier than that! The ring was EPLS as was the paper flower...er, um...pinwheel....

...and that's that.

I hope that you are all having a great night! I am off to play dominoes...does anyone know how to play this game???? I can never remember...quite frankly it always ends up with the kids makinig the little rows that you knock over. Once we get to that point it's all over!

After they go to bed I am going to start working on Beate's WSC...it's another awesome sketch!...and I think I have the perfect stamp for it!

If you are interested in signing up for a Gina K swap the fabulous Joanne Basile has another swap started over at SCS. Check it out! It would be great to swap with you guys! There's only four more spots and she is going to have a drawing that will give one lucky winner a Gina K gift certificate! How cool is that!

Have a wonderful weekend and I hope to be posting my sketch card tomorrow...if all goes well tonight that is! ;)

Another Card Swap Reject

Ok...so you know I think I'm funny when I say that...the reject comment. I really like this card...I don't dislike it at all! I actually ended up thinking it just looked too much like something I had done in the past and wanted something different for the Gina K swap. You see, old olive is one of my favorite greens. In fact, when I need green I usually reach for this one. ...and I love green so I use old olive all the time! Pretty soon it all runs together for me!

Anyhoo...this is the first card I did for the Gina K swap and then decided I needed to do something different. ...this one has been sitting on my desk and I figured I better get a picture and show you guys before I send it to someone or it gets all mucked up...little fingers like to do the walking on this desk!

This card screams OOC to me...that would be because I did the stitching by hand! ***shaking my head*** ...and I have definitely been on a pinwheel kick. They're so cute and they scream spring to me.

That's it for now. I am off to get a few things done around here and I have to dash up to the school to get some stuff done there as well today. I hope that you are all having a great one!

I will post you all soon! :)

It's Page Plans First Reveal!

What an exciting day over at Page Plans! Chris and Lesli have put together a fabulous new page full of great sketch ideas to get the creative juices flowing! You know I love sketches! I'm such a sketch junkie!

Well today is the exciting reveal day! We were given some super fun sketches to create a card and scrapbook page. Here's the card sketch created by the ultra talented Chris Ross...

Isn't that a fun sketch! I couldn't wait to pull out my nestibilities for this one! ...and I had the perfect Basic Grey paper....and then there was my GinaK stamp.....

Here's what I came up with...

I hope you all check out the rest of the examples they are fabulous! I hope you give this sketch a try. It was really a fun one to play with!

Thanks for stopping by today! I will post you all soon! :)

A Card Swap Reject

k...just mean that it didn't quite work out... ;)

By reject, I mean that I realized that I didn't have enough paper to go with this one. Well, and after I was finished I wasn't quite sure that I loved it. Anyway, here you go....

I sent my cards out today...express to meet the deadline! ;) I can't wait to share them with you! For one I altered one of the altoid tins that I got from GinaK's store. Fun! Lovin' it!

I hope you are all having a great day! It's a rainy one here which goes quite nicely with the colds that we all have. I am off to try and clean my desk up a bit. It is completey ransacked after last night.

I will post you all soon!

WooHooo...Finally Something New! ;)

Wow! When I noticed that it had been a week since posting something new I think I put a little pressure on myself! I really have a goal to post something every day. That hasn't happened over the last week. I am working on being a bit more organized so that I don't wind up going this long again!

Ok...so here's a little something. I made the box last week and have been waiting on the card. My problem is that I keep looking towards the What's In My Tin set. Once I do that I worry that the card/project will end up being my swap project. Well I can't share that yet! So, here's one that didn't make the cut.

...Oh! No pressure now! If someone feels ripped off for not getting this little simple something I will feel terrible! Maybe it's a good thing it's a long distance swap! ;)

...I really am kidding...sort of! :)

Oh yeah...here you go!

This is pretty simple. But I must confess, I really love simple! ...and this stamp set! Wow! Bam! Love it! ;)

...and the Bachelor! Ohmygoodness! It's back on...if you aren't watching tonight you are missing quite the fireworks! I've never seen it quite like this before!

Ok...post you soon! Have a wonderful night!

Get Well Quickie

Ok...I'm here to share a card...I am quite sure you are all going to think...ok...know... that I am such a tv junkie. Trust me...it's worse than you thought! I watch just about everything I can squeeze into the three or four hours I have after the boys go to bed and before I pass out!

Tonight it's the Bachelor. Yes, I am a total reality tv freak! I can't even believe that I am telling you I am watching but I can't help it! I can't turn away. This show is such a train wreck. I get so embarrassed for the people on this show.

Are any of you watching this season? First, he is adorable! But what's up with all of the singing!?! Could you even imagine singing to a date like these gals are doing? In a room full of strange gals going after the same guy and you are going to break into song!?

Sorry, I just don't get it. Surely there is a better way to get his attention...ok...besides putting your undies in his pocket...if you haven't been watching you have no idea what I am talking about but some chick actually did that! I would like to think it was the alcohol but my guess is that's not quite out of the norm for her.

Ok...am I really giving you an update on the Bachelor? Soooo very sorry...I guess I should promise not to post during this show ever again. You should be safe that way.

So here's my quick little card. I really needed a get well card.....

......another singer!....this one is opera! Please NO more singing!

I so love this stamp set. I love how versatile this is....and how awesome to have a card just scream to get well! Perfect! Absolutely perfect! Love it!

...yes, I think I did say I would move on from this paper...sorry...it's still on my desk and it's soooo very pretty! Is it a problem that I run out of it within a few days? Does that mean I have a problem...aside from the obvious?

Rose ceremony coming up...gotta dash...

Post you all soon!

THREE...

Woohooo! I can't believe that I actually did it! Of course, yes, using the same paper helped. That was one less thing to think about. I have finished and stuffed eggs and baskets. I hid the eggs. That was a bit tougher this year. The boys are getting old enough to really hunt for them. Well not Hayden...but Evan and Carter.

So here's my final card for the night....

This is for Taylor's cupcake challenge. Of course, there isn't a cupcake on this one. This is from my Thinking of You set from Gina K. Love this...and the paper is....Papertreyink! ;) ...and the miracle is...I still LOVE the paper! I also did a little treat box with it tonight...super cute! I will have to post it tomorrow night as I am just about to fall over! Too tired to do much of anything else but sleep now!

I hope that you all have a wonderful Easter!

Take care and I will post you soon! :)

Thinking of You

How much do I love this set! Love it! This is from the 'Thinking of You' set from GinaK. When I first saw this set I knew it had to be mine. It's just adorable and with so many possibilities!

Here is my first card with the set. I am using some paper and ribbon from Papertreyink.
So in love with it all!
Ok...off to stamp some more...I really want to get started on some challenges...you know how I love them!
Post you later! :)

Beate's Weekend Sketch Challenge

Ok...so I was going to head off to bed...then I noticed there were some new shows in my DVR. When did this happen?! ...and where the heck is Journeyman! I so love that show. Is it coming back!?

Well, I decided to watch a show and why not keep on stamping while I'm at it! Time for another EPLS! So here's my card for Beate's weekend sketch challenge....

Yup...epls...the wheelbarrow is from SU...I think it's a retired set....all I know is I got it from some mini way back when...the flowers are of course Gina K...told you I love this set! How cute are those flowers! This card reminds me of what I wish I would be doing tomorrow...working in the yard planting lots and lots of flowers! I am so anxious for spring! Of course, I won't be able to plant anything until May...otherwise I will still run the risk of everything dying in a last freeze. But May will be here before you know it! How exciting is that! What is such a bummer is that my bulbs haven't even popped up yet! I am hoping they weren't ripped up with all of the work we did last year. Do you know how bummed I will be if my daffodils aren't there! My azalea's won't bloom here until May. I am a bit worried about them as we have had some warmer weather lately. That happened last year and they bloomed early..for Indiana...and then were promptly frozen to death! drag!

Enough of my flower woes. I hope you are all having a great night and I will post you tomorrow!

Take care! :)

A Gina K Set The Scene Challenge

It's my first Gina K challenge! You know how I love a good challenge! This one was a ton of fun! For this, you needed to create a scene on your card. Fun! Ok...I missed the deadline...why you ask....well here is the reason...

I started working on this last night. I used my stamp-a-ma-jig to get everything lined up and then started coloring it all in with my copics....only to have my favorite green marker just drool all over my paper! Let me tell you!...at 11PM when something like that happens you just have to cut your losses and head to bed! Uhhh! What a total bummer!

So today is a new day...but Hayden's birthday! How exciting to see the little guy enjoy his birthday! Although, I'm not sure if he enjoyed it quite as much as his brothers did! They were really having fun with the whole thing...well, until the little guy decided to put his hand in the cake...let's face it...we all have to let them touch it....it drove Ev and Carry nuts! They didn't want any 'Hayden' germs! Yeah, right! I see them pick their noses! Who do they think they are kidding!

Oh, back to the card, here's what I came up with for my 'scene'....

Did I tell you this was a favorite set of mine! I so love these flowers and the basket with the eggs is adorable! Adorable!

Well, next time I will be on time! :) It was a fun challenge anyhoo. I really liked putting the stamps together like this. I think it looks cute.

So now...off to???? I really need to get some scrappin done for little Hayden...who I must say just doesn't seem so little! ***insert sad face here...he's getting so big so very fast!

If I finish anything tonight I will post it for you. I may break in between to do another card...I have this really cute paper that I want to play with. It's adorable!

I hope you have all had a great day and I will post you soon! :)
