For Carter

My son has a little special something going on at school today. They are starting a writing assignment and his teacher asked for some help from the parents. She sent home a piece of card stock and asked for us to add some things that represent Carter. I love a chance to do a little scrapbooking so I decided to just go with it! I pulled out some of my favorite Crate Paper and of course my favorite Unity Stamps! ....and here you go.....

I hope he likes it when he gets the chance to see it. They will be 'unveiled' at school at some point. Talk about pressure! ;) lol....given that he will be opening this in front of all of his friends I worry just a tad about getting to 'cutsey'. You know what I mean. I should be good. There's no pink, flowers, or ribbon. Right? ;)

Be sure and check out the Unity blog for all of todays specials.

Have a great day! :)

Flower Soft Ultra Fine .... Post nO.2

Back again with some NEW Flower Soft! Well, a bit more of the new! I've shared a few samples of the new Ultra Fine Flower Soft and today the design team has created more samples for you. I'm using Wishing Well. You can find this beautiful stamp here. The Flower Soft stamps are perfect for watercoloring but they work well with any other medium as well. Don't want to color? You can find this image finished for you by picking up the toppers. They are here.

So what's different with the new Ultra Fine FS? Both the regular and the Ultra Fine are great for adding dimension to your projects but the Ultra Fine will allow you to do so to much smaller images. You can get even great detail with this product. It's truly stunning! The new Ultra Fine is available on February 1.

Here's my sample for today.....

I really love this stuff! It is beautiful on anything! Some of the other design team members have created some samples for you today. Be sure and check them out.....

Happy Monday....or soon to be....I'm going live just a bit early since I've got another post coming as well! I'm so excited to be participating with the Monday Challenge! What a perfect week to jump back in! This weeks challenge is to create a Clean & Simple card. Well, you know that CAS is one of my favorite styles so this week was so much fun for me! I used this weeks Card Positioning Systems sketch for this one. You can view the sketch over at the CPS blog. Here's my little card......

I used the digital kit Daisies 4 You from The Stamps of Life for this one. This is such a fun kit! The patterned paper, ribbon, and buttons are from PTI. I added some of the NEW....ok....soon to be released....Ultra Fine Flower Soft for the inside of the buttons. I LOVE the new Ultra Fine FS! It's so delicate. This will be available on Feb 1.

It's a first for me! I'm getting pretty accustomed to combining both digital and 'true' elements in my work. I actually really love working with digital images but have yet to actually create something completely digital. Well, today marks a first! An all digital layout! Wowzers, jump back! ;) While playing with some of my Stamps of Life images I just sort of let go and the next thing, it's an all digital layout! Take a peek....

I really had so much fun creating this! It was really easy! Hope you enjoy! I'm off! I will be back for more tomorrow! Hope you all enjoy your day!

Fun * Gi

It's time for a little more Unity. Today a sneak from the new store kit. You can get all of the deets over at the Unity site. This is such a cute kit! I really love it! One of my favorite sentiments from this kit is the 'fun.gi'. CUTE! Perfect for your Valentine! Here's what I came up with this one.....

LOVE that little 'shroom and the sentiment is a hoot! The paper is from Whate of a Tale from Sassafras. I colored the muchroom with my copics.

Sorry for the quickie post. At the time of writing this we are heading out to a basketball game and then to the sledding hill. Ok....well, all of the men in my house are. I'm curled up in bed...hopefully they let me sleep in.....I'm a bit under the weather.

Hope you all enjoy your day! Big hugs!

A New Love!

Hey Everyone! Back again. It's snowing here. Can I tell you how excited my kiddos were when they finally heard they would have a two hour delay in the morning? Can you remember the days of waiting to have school cancel or start late? They are so cute! It really makes me giggle! ;)
Ok....time for another Stamp Simply challenge and I am soooo excited to be using some NEW Flower Soft and Unity for this one! New Kit of the month and New super FINE Flower Soft! You can find the new Unity kit now over at the Unity site but the new Flower Soft will be introduced at CHA in just a couple of weeks with product ready for purchase Feb 1. You will not believe how AMAZING this is! I LOVE the new colors and just love how tiny each little 'flake' is. You can really create some amazing detailed creations with this!

Soooo....with this weeks Stamp Simply challenge:

Deets: ssnotime121 -- Love is in the Air - With Valentine's Day as our next major card-giving day on the horizon, let's get something ready to add to our stash. How about a card using a heart, Valentine or lovey-type theme -- no other rules -- let's just add to our stash with some hearts and/or lovey type cards -- and if you need a wedding card, this would be the perfect challenge for that too -- let's just love it up this week!!! No other rules - just run with it and have some fun!!! (Thank you, thank you, Sharon for typing that up for me! ;)) ....Sounds like fun, right?!

Hedgehogs!

It's Monday and our first day back to school after this fun filled Christmas break. While we have had a great time, I must confess to being just a bit excited to have a little more 'me' time...ok....as much as you can have with a {nearly} three year old! ;) This morning I'm taking my youngest for donuts that he won't have to share and then we are going to spend some quality time doing whatever he wants....and hopefully somewhere in there I will find a quiet moment to breathe! ;) lol.

Today I'm happy to share some new Flower Soft with all of you. You know how much I LOVE Flower Soft. It's such a great embellishment to any project. This months challenge for the design team included using the new Hedgerow Friends toppers. While these toppers are perfect to use alone as a notecard I opted to cut them down slightly and add some of the super cute patterned paper that Flower Soft sells to create a notecard set. Take a peek......

The ribbon is from the our very own Sharon's store....she has such a HUGE supply! I used pink, orange, yellow, shamrock green and nut brown Flower Soft on my little toppers.

Be sure and check out the rest of the team....

Unity Thursday

Happy New Years! I hope you are all having a wonderful holiday season! I'm so sorry for the quick post but I am on 'gaming' duty with the kiddos today. I really love this time of year but with them off from school for so long I feel like my days are all about Mario, Madden '10, Monopoly....the list goes on and on! I did take a bit of a break yesterday to squeeze in some creating time. :) Here's what I have for you today....

This little layout of my youngest. I used the scrapbook KOTM for this one....

A Simple Gift

It's time to Stamp Simply and what perfect timing here! I am trying to finish up all my last minute Christmas gift giving so this weeks challenge is perfect! The one catch with this weeks challenge is to use 'snow' in our projects. Here's what I came up with....

I've spent the entire day baking. I have a huge plate ready to go for my hubby to take to work tomorrow, lots of plates for friends and about a dozen little boxes (as pictured above) for my children to take to school tomorrow for their teachers and the school staff. Phew! What a day!

These little goodie boxes are holding my homemade turtles. These are sooooo EPLS to make. All you need are caramel, milk chocolate, and pecans. Layer a baking sheet with pecans, cover with caramel. Bake in an oven pre-set to 200 degrees for around 5 minutes and then dip in melted chocolate. So easy but boy do they taste so GOOD!

The little boxes are from Michaels. I used the snowflake Martha Stewart punch for the border of the red card stock. The patterned paper also had glittery snowflakes but the picture doesn't quite show that off. The stamp is from Papertrey Inc.

Be sure and check out the rest of the team.....

Stamp Simply

It's time for this weeks Stamp Simply challenge. This weeks challenge is to make a 'tag'. All of the specifics can be found at Sharon's blog. This one is ssnotime116 for uploads to Splitcoast. When you get there and read the specific instructions you will see that I have sort of strayed off task just a wee bit. Here's the deal. I pulled out some new BoBunny for this project. Everything is from the A Gift Of Love line. It's ADORABLE! I LOVE this line! Well, one of the stickers said 'Dear Santa, I can explain everything'. Instantly I knew I had to use this sticker. We've had a bit of a rough morning. Everyone is home today and the older two were having a 'moment'. (that sounds much better than fighting...denial...I live there) Anyhoo, I figured I would make a tag to include with our cookies for Santa. We are gonna need it this year. So on my way to a tag I ended up with a mini 'tag' book.
Here's the cover:

While I was trying to decide how to put everything together. You know, the cookies and such, I remembered a little glitter incident that took place here just a couple of days ago. Actually, I remembered it because I still havent' gotten all of the glitter out of the carpet down here. Then I remembered walking downstairs only to find the fish tank full of toys and cookies. Holy smoke I know a little boy that really needs to make his own explanation book! So here you go.....

The glitter. I have a couple of small drawers that are filled with glitter containers of various sizes. Hey, I'm a glitter nut! I guess he decided it was really fun to play with and he said when I caught him...'Mommy, it's just like sand'. Honestly! Lost are about a dozen bottles of glitter. Some of those were the really big Martha Stewart containers.

Ok....the next picture is not for the faint of heart. I didn't take the picture until after we got the toys out. My older two boys were really upset as they thought the fish were all crushed. The entire tank was filled with train tracks, cars, stuffed animals, and cookies. I think he may have sprinkled a little bit of glitter in there as well. All I know is that the cookies feel apart when I tried to get them out and the toys all went in the trash. YUCK!

***Remarkably, NO fish were killed in this incident. How that is possible I do NOT know! And that is what our fishtank looked like after all of the toys were removed. It's still not perfectly clear. I'm afraid I will kill the fish if I changed to much water at once but we are working on it.
Do you love this face? Holy smoke! This is the look that he gives everyone this year! Everywhere we go he is scrunching his entire face up. No matter what the situation or who he is looking at. And there I am, just shaking my head.

This is the epitome of Hayden. Crumbs on his lips, hat on backwards, sweaty....what more needs to be said.

Then you have those really sweet moments when you just want to squeeze his little cheeks. For as mischevous as he can be he is a zillion times sweeter. He's a sweetie. Yeah, I know, he really doesn't need this book to help him out with 'santa'. But she is really going to love looking back on it in the future!

Hope you all enjoy! Check out the rest of the team.....

{Post #2} The Stamps Of Life

Back again. It's time for a new release from The Stamps of Life. This months release is WONDERFUL! You will love it! My first card of the month is all digi. I really love the flexibility of digital images. I also love to create a (somewhat in this instance) one layer card with them. Here's what I came up with this month.....

I did mat the main layer and add a ribbon but otherwise it's all one. I layered the images in Photoshop and changed the colors as well.
You can see the whole kit at the Stamps of Life site.

Post you all soon!
